We did the Jadesails Halong Bay daytour on Jan 1st 2019 and want to rate our experience:
Pro:
+ Luxury transfer van very comfy
+ great design of the boat with lots of glass, stylish furniture, restaurants heated
+ good route (was not crowded, we did not see many other boats)
+ interesting activities (rowing boat, kayak, spring roll demonstration)
Contra:
- transfer takes longer than 2 hours, forced stop of 20 minutes too long
- confusion on arrival at some office at the harbour, wasted waiting time, boat not to be seen there
- complicated transfer by speed boat to the big boat and backwards
- food was bad (not tasty, cold)
- staff not attentive (lots of staff, but no customer orientation, ordering a simple coffee took one hour). But they were very supportive, e.g. to help us into the kayak
- not clear, what is included, tour did not stick to the time plan
- too many people on the boat (48), not enough tables for 2 (forced to share with strangers)
- bad condition of the bathrooms on the boat
