Where is the button for 10 stars? That’s what I want to give for our recent tour with Calais from Experienced Tours in Scotland. We are on a cruise ship, going all around Scotland. I looked at many different tour companies and picked Experienced Tours to manage our private tours on five different days, in several different locations One of the reasons I selected them was the responsiveness of the company in understanding and working with me to customize the tours so we could see all the things we wanted to see. Sandy got back to me immediately each time I asked a question, always with the best details and the flexibility we needed. We were fortunate to have Calais as our tour guide for our two days in Edinburgh. All communication leading up to the day was perfect. We were able to chat on WhatsApp . He was there right when we got off the ship, waiting with his pristine tour vehicle, wearing a very elegant and understated black kilt. So we were off on our journey. Calais had all the details I had provided to Sandy, we wanted to have lots of photo opportunities and chances to view the castle and beautiful sites in Edinburgh. Calais gave us great details all along the way and drove us to the perfect locations. They had preplanned and reserved a cute spot just outside the city for lunch. We never felt rushed, Calais was extremely generous with his time, it feels like we made a new friend. He is so knowledgeable about the city, and knows just where to find the parking spot so that you can get close to everything. The second day was extra special, we are Outlander fans and wanted to see Outlander sites. Nobody could do this tour better, Calais was part of the crew that filmed on location here in Scotland. So we got the inside scoop, the behind-the-scenes stories. We also asked for a revision to the standard tour you see on their website, no problem, we saw the important Outlander sites, but also had time to see the kelpies and Falkirk Wheel. So we had two perfect days with Calais, made some great memories, learned a lot, took amazing photos, and I know we will be back again to spend even more time in this part of Scotland. When we are back, we will definitely ask for Calais, but no matter what, we will definitely be coming to Experienced Tours for our tour guides.

Sandy is an excellent guide and gave our group an exceptional introduction to Edinburgh. He is knowledgeable and informative but mostly so much fun! Highly recommend him and Experienced Tours as a whole.

We've taken well over 300 day trips and shore excursions and this was definitely one of the top 3 of all of them. Sandy was a fantastic guide and provided us an outstanding experience. We learned, laughed and came to appreciate the beauty and history of Edinburgh that we hadn't experienced on our previous 2 visits. The van was immaculate, roomy and comfortable, Sandy's narrative was easy to hear and understand, and each stop provided beautiful photo opportunities and a chance to learn from Sandy's extensive knowledge. Pre-trip coordination was easy and very responsive. I just cannot recommend this tour company and Sandy more highly - they are top-notch!

We choose a half day private tour of Edinburgh. We were picked up at our hotel (on time) and returned to the hotel after a 4 hr. tour. The tour was tailored to our special needs. My husband and I have mobility issues and the guide did an outstanding job to make sure we saw all of Edinburgh. As such we didn't feel we missed anything. Our guide, Sandy, was excellent and we learned so much about the history as well as a lot of fun facts about the city.

Gary Ross is a fantastic tour guide. Very knowledgeable, friendly, funny and accommodating! The day flew by, we learned so much about Edinburgh, the history of Scotland and had a blast doing it all!! The best!

On May 2nd 2024 we had a great tour through Edinburgh in the Premium Minivan of Experienced Tours with our tour guide Laura. She was great and knew so much about the city. Even though it was not (my) first visit by far, I learned a lot of new things, which was great. Hospitality with drinks and a snack was fantastic. Also respect for Laura's great driving: I would be sweating from parts I did not know I had when I would have to drive up to the castle through these crowds of tourists. We had a fantastic day and even my parents in law, who do not speak English, were impressed. I would definitely recommend. Thanks!

We had a fabulous day in Edinburgh! From port pickup to drop off, our day was filled with sights, history, and more stories than we can remember! Sandy was the perfect host... personable, knowledgeable, and never boring. We were also happy that Experienced Tours corresponded with us in advance and built the tour around the things we wished to see. That was much appreciated. Our day was perfect... we could not have been happier!

First of all, our tour guide Sandy was terrific. In addition to having a keen knowledge of the greater Edinburgh area and of all the sights we visited, Sandy’s truly a very nice, personable gentleman. We were visiting for the day via a cruise ship and this tour was a perfect way to experience Edinburgh in a thoroughly and yet comfortable pace. Well done Sandy and Experienced Tours. Slainte!

We enjoyed our day trip with our host Calais. He was very friendly and informative in describing locations. We went to a few areas of Edinburgh and were very happy with the tour and would thoroughly recommend. The vehicles are great and guests are treated very well.
