TL;DR - book directly with the cruise ships and avoid middle agents.
Other reviews say something similar but i’ll try my best to summarise the playbook that dodgy agents in the middle use so you can avoid getting scammed too.
1) communication - they won’t respond to you until midnight of the trip, so you are left stressing about the details and also lose your free cancellation period. In my case, 55 confusing WhatsApp messages at midnight and no response when queried certain details.
2) cancel midway - if you ask more questions to clarify or are unsatisfied with whats been booked for you, they will tell you they’d be happy to cancel and refund on the day itself. In my case - i was threatened to be taken back to Hanoi when already in the shuttle. It was too late for me to arrange an alternative so i went with it anyway, as intended by the agent.
3) not what you booked - in my case i booked 5star 3days/2nights ha long bay cruise. Firstly, i was booked on 2 different cruises for a night each and secondly it wasn’t 5 stars. When i questioned at check in, i was led to believe that i was silly to think 2nights means same room/same boat. So the fault was put on me for any misunderstanding.
4) cruise experience - it is important to separate the actual cruise and service experience provided by the cruise company versus the booking experience by the agent. Cruise experience is not bad if you have the information upfront and know what you are getting and pay a price accordingly. You are able to set the right expectations then.
5) Feedback - the agent will use the good feedback that you’d eventually give to the cruise staff and use it against you to imply that everything was great. Once again they are 2 are separate things.
Lastly, the biggest red flag i missed with this one is the claim that 100% of customers are satisfied. Really?!

I had an extraordinary experience on the two-night cruise in Halong Bay. Manager Thang and the entire crew were exceptional, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we stepped on board. What a lovely time we had on this fabulous cruise! It was the staff who made all the difference! They were fantastic and attended to every detail to make this 3 day adventure a great memory for us! The food was beautiful. The activities were great! The rooms were comfortable. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony watching the beautiful scenery. We tried fishing for squid (don't worry. . . we didn't catch any!). Our ship was Aqua of the Seas. Would highly recommend this cruise for a 3 day 2 night visit. The second day was our favorite!

Stunning place. Relaxing two night cruise with fun activities and loads of good food. The staff were super attentive and friendly. We were a little unsure exactly what we had booked beforehand as the details were very top line but the whole thing over the three days ended up being very well organised.

We did a two nights 3 days tour (it was the Classic Orchid Cruise option) and we loved it. Everything was organised well, the food was good and all the staff were lovely. Our room was also amazing on the boat, really spacious with a bath as well as shower and our own balcony. The scenery was incredible, really beautiful. Kayaking and swimming especially fun. Would recommend!

Had an amazing experience on my tour. Was very well looked after and staff went above and beyond to ensure the trip went smoothly and each and every guest was well catered for. Special thanks to the tour leader who looked after me and let me ride in his kayak, and gave me medicine to help with my stomach problems. I was very grateful! 🙏

Highly recommend this tour. From start to finish the tour ran as detailed. Great amenities on the boat. Dan was also a great boat manager keeping us entertained, well prepared and even shared information about the places we visited and the culture of Vietnam.

The trip was very nice organized. Our guide on board and the whole crew was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are pretty big ans clean. The food and especially the dinner was amazing -even got 2 times the main course because we were very hungry this day.
Moreover all day trips were well planned and organized. Our guide was always able to answer all questions and always available for us.
