Our tour of Tangier was disappointing as our guide lacked enthusiasm and seemed bored and tired throughout. This is the opposite to our previous experience with Viator in Turkey.

We had an incredible time with our tour guide. He was funny and friendly and spoke English and Spanish too! He met us at the ferry with an sign and made us feel comfortable right away. The van was comfy and cool. We mentioned we were interested in shopping like locals so once we finished our driving tour- he found a trusted guide for us for 2 hours for 30 euros and we got an awesome locals tour. Our driver met us and our packages when we were done and returned us safely to the ferry. We would not have experienced Tangiers in any other way! Thank you!

Driver and guide met up in time. Good guiding. We wanted to go in the Medina. This was not part Of the trip, however the guide had US join another Group for 20e. He also drive US back to Tanger Med terminal for 30e. Good and safe tour.

Driver was professional, kind, and went out of his way to make sure my tour was enjoyable. If you might have difficulty with local languages, this tour is definitely worth it. Will guarantee that you hit all of the must-see spots in the Tangier area.

I was a little hesitant to book this tour though since it didnt have any reviews. But since it was cheaper than the cruise ships shore excursion and a private tour, I decided to go ahead and book it. The Viator confirmation just had the local contact JTT Morocco Rental Cars and their number with no meeting time or place. I booked 2 other shore excursions through Viator at the same time and from both of them I received email confirmations from the local tour company with the meeting details. So I googled JTT, found their email address, sent them off an email to arrange the meeting time, and never got a response. I ended up calling JTT, the guy who answered the phone didnt seem to verify our tour, just said if we got a Viator confirmation someone would meet us near the taxis at the port at 9:00 or 2:00. Since this was supposed to be a 5 hour tour, the only option for us to make it back on the ship in time was 9:00. Much to our relief, there was a gentleman, Ottaman, waiting for us at 9:00 when we got off the ship. He drove us around Tangier, out to Cap Spartel and the Hercules Cave, pointed out the Kings palace, drove us into the Kasbah and then dropped us off at the entrance to the Medina. He didnt accompany us into the Medina, but said he would wait for us and bring us back to the ship when we were done. Since we could see our ship from the Medina entrance, we said it wasnt necessary, we could just walk back to the ship. We were done in 2.5 hours, not sure if we were just quick at the stops, or just didnt have the traffic since it was low season. I didnt feel like we missed anything and experienced Tangier, being harassed by the vendors inside the Medina etc. This is really more of a private driver than a private tour guide. He did tell us a bit about Tangier and the country, but didnt accompany us on any of the stops. Tangier was an interesting stop on our cruise, but not sure I would go out of my way to visit Tangier again.
