My family had an incredible day with Sheriff in Tangier! He customized our tour and gave us all that we requested, from camel riding on the beach to tea on a terrace overlooking the city during the call to prayer. A bonus was how he knew when and where to take us to avoid the crowds, but still see the major sites. Sheriff has many friends in Tangier and we benefited from this. He is very knowledgeable and seems to know how to cater to his clients, in our case, all 8 of us! Spend a beautiful day in Tangier with Sheriff and I guarantee you will come to love this man and his city!

We travel a lot, so it means something when I say this was one of our best experiences ever. Our tour guide, Tidy (nickname), was born and raised in Tangier, so he had immense knowledge of the area, along with a great command of the English language. He was on time picking us up at our cruise ship. He asked us about our priorities and even suggested the timing of each activity so we could avoid the crowds of tourists who got off the ship at the same time.

This is a custom tour, so we added an exciting camel ride on the beach. The additional cost was minimal, but the reward was priceless. It was quite serene as we had clear blue skies, deep turquoise seas, and the calming sound of the waves. It's an experience not to be missed.

We had as much time as we needed, and once we'd seen all we wanted to see, we chose to return to the ship because of the children in the group rather than returning to the Medina for a late lunch.

I hesitate to mention this, lest the price goes up, but this was a bargain for the price compared to what we would have paid for a ship booked excursion. We got so much more value with this excursion and cannot thank Tidy enough for making the one our or best memories ever.

We couldn't be more pleased with the personal tour we received with Tiade. His knowledge of the history, the people, the sights provided us with great insight into Tangier. He personalized the itinerary to include the Museum of Contemporary Art after I asked if there were a museum in town. His knowledge of the art and artifacts was truly amazing. He gave us so much, we are grateful for the experience and highly recommend.

Our host Shariff showed my wife and I an awesome day in Tangier and really made the most of the limited time we had to visit. We took the 9am FRS ferry over from Tarifa, and Shariff and the driver were waiting for us with a sign as we exited the Tanger Ville port. They drove us in a very clean Mercedes van to some scenic overlooks in the hills above Tangier, then to Cap Spartel where we we’re treated to the traditional mint tea and other Moroccan treats while we looked out over the Mediterranean. Next, we visited the caves of Hercules where we were greeted at the entrance by some people playing traditional Berber music (very touristy and a little awkward but others might find it fun if that’s your thing). The great thing about this tour is that Shariff will tailor it to your group- we had no interest in the camel rides along the beach so we skipped this and went on to the Kasbah where Shariff led us through the winding streets and alleyways showing us all the history and local cultural practices we would have never known about or found on our own. He even arranged for us to see the inside of one of the guest houses where we went to the rooftop and looked out over the city during the afternoon call to prayer. In addition to providing an intimate knowledge of local highlights/historical gems throughout Tangier, the other major benefits to having Shariff as our guide was that he served as an interpreter/mediator during interactions with street vendors and provided us with a more intimate understanding of local culture and customs that we would not have got from walking the streets on our own. At the end of the tour we were brought to one of the curated rug/antique shops and were given the sales pitch to purchase some rugs but the salesman was very polite when we declined to buy anything. Overall we would definitely recommend Shariff as a guide, especially if it is your first trip to Tangier and you have limited time to explore the city on your own.
