Let's visit the Sacred Lagoon and Salt Cathedral in 1 day!
In this shared tour we will visit the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá which is the second largest cathedral made of salt in the world. This is a salt complex located 180 meters below the ground, which represents one of the most distinguished achievements of Colombian architecture, as well as being a true faith for the miners.
In addition to this, we will visit the Laguna Sagrada de Guatavita, where the legend of "El Dorado" took place. This is a magical green area surrounded by an incredible landscape that you can see once at the top of the lagoon.

It is so convenient that they pick you up from your accommodation. Kata was incredibly knowledgable and answered everyone’s questions throughout the whole day. Her Spanish and English is great and she goes into depth with the local history as well as the history of the Lagoon and catedral. Alejandro our trusty driver was very polite and punctual. The place we went to for lunch was brilliant. The cathedral felt more like a museum than its many shops instead of a spiritual place but the lagoon was incredible.

Steven (Guide) and Alejandro (Driver) were very professional and courteous. Steven did a great job explaining the areas we explored and their history. The sites we explored were quite unique and interesting.

It was such a long day but definitely worth it. From the pick up from the hotel with the amazing driver Alejandro and the sweet and brilliant guide Karen. They were so understanding and made our experience an unique and fun one.

Very reliable and always with a good attitude. I liked that the transportation was comfortable, the operator was very attentive and the guide was always friendly, both looking for us to have the best experience. If I return I will definitely look for them to continue getting to know that beautiful country! 10 out of 10

I booked this tour last minute because my pre-planned tour got cancelled last minute, but I am soo glad I went on this tour! I cannot imagine having more fun than I did that day. It was a long day, but time flew. We did both the Guatavita Lake as well as the Salt Cathedral on this tour, not many tours offered this. I have to give it to our tour guide, Mauro, who was not only more like a friend on this trip but also a very knowledgeable guide. He had perfect English and made the tour 20/10! He made us all comfortable and even though we were all solo, he made it feel like we were family/friends. Loved this tour, book it!

Salt cathedral was a bit too religious for me but the guatavita lagoon was really great. The guide was knowledgeable and was helpful with explaining the legend of El Dorado
