Saro, a local of the village was one of the kindest guides I have ever had. He took us by his sister’s place and we sat out on lake Tonle Sap while he explained what life is like out here. We tried bamboo sticky rice and donuts! It was not as “glamorous” as in the high season, but I found it to give more perspective as to how the people live in this village. A wonderful experience.

Recommend highly. Working village not touristy. We had an excellent guide, provided real insight to life in Siem Reap and life in the fishing villages. We stopped on the way for sticky rice cooked in bamboo at a roadside store and then a bakery trying the special donuts. Both of these were delicious. The guide answered our thousand and one questions whilst we were travelling. The giide has family in the village and was warmly greeted. Being the end of the dry season, the river and lake were low. This was really interesting and cannot wait to come back after the wet season to see the lake full.

This is my second visit to the floating village. The one with Sarin was by far my best experience.
He made us taste all the local specialties sold on the roadsides. 1 hour boat trip through the mazes and the lake. Then the best part, lunch at his family's stilt house. Nothing better to immerse yourself in the way of life. Very nice view from the balcony. Finally, take a walk in the village to discover the inhabitants' off-water activities.

I had the best time on this tour. We got to see a part of Cambodia we would never have gotten to without this tour. I loved seeing the village, going out to the lake and eating some local snacks. Our guide was amazing and the best. He answered all of our questions and really gave us a flavor for Cambodian life

Sarin was an amazing host & tour guide. He took us to a few local shops & markets on the way to the floating village. The villages themselves were a deeply humbling and impactful experience. I cannot say enough good things about Sarin. Highly recommend this tour if you can make the trip.

A well done tour that really introduced us to both the Cambodian countryside as well as the Big Lake and it’s village. Transportation was comfortable, snacks were fun, and the sightseeing was definitely “only in Cambodia”. Our enthusiastic guide was the icing on the cake. Overall a great experience and good value

The minority stilt village is open to tourists enroute to Tonle Sap Lake. Highly recommend walking through the village for 30 minutes to meet the children who enjoy life to the fullest. Bring soccer balls, pumps, notebooks, pencils, and candies for the children; they'll flock to you and be very appreciative. Bring as many items as you can carry. You'll be happy you did!

Well worth going away from all the people in the towns to the quiet of the lake. Our AboutAsia guide took us for our final morning in Cambodia to the fishing villages on stilts by theToni sap lake.Kampong Phluk shows you how these people live high up in their houses on stilts with the women and young children at home and the men out fishing. We were fortunate to climb up a house ladder and see their home which was much bigger than we thought it would be.In the rainy season the river has been known in a bad year to go over the roof tops.Very cheerful people in the houses smiling and waving. Our guide gave them a little money to say thank you. Then we returned to our car and were driven to the boat where we had a quiet couple of hours on the lake and a picnic. We learnt more about the dreadful civil war fought between the Khmer Rouge and the Vietnam Kong.So many people died.
