Brilliant trip! Lasha took my friends and I on this tour and was a fantastic host. As well as telling us about the history of wine in Georgia, we really enjoyed learning from him about the country more generally. We were based in Tblisi for our stay, and so this tour was a great way to see more of the country and get a sense of the contrast between places. The scenery was beautiful, but obviously the main feature was the wine itself, which was all excellent. We had 3 different venues for the tastings, culminating with a phenomenal lunch with some of the best food we had in Georgia. Really authentic and one of the highlights of our trip. Lasha and his colleagues took care of all the organising, were great with their communications, and so very easy from an admin perspective too. Would strongly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to taste some great wine, eat some delicious food and see/learn more about the country.

We had an amazing day with the private tour to Kakheti. Our guide, Ilia, was very friendly and a good driver, who gave us enough private time. He shared many informations about georgian traditions and the Kakheti wine. The highlight of the tour was a visit at a local winemaking family where delicious food was served. We highly recommend this tour and Ilia.

We do many private tours with my wife and this one was truly one of the most memorable!
Kakheti has beautiful wineries and local households ferment and age their own wine in qvevri (amphorae buried in the ground). We visited such houses and the local families opened their doors and welcomed us warmly. Don’t miss their homemade chacha (Georgian brandy)!
Lasha is a special guide who is multilingual and is very knowledgeable about Georgian history, politics and winemaking. We had a musical day with lots of happiness and there was a special treat in the end (I wont say what it is!)

I recently had the privilege of embarking on an unforgettable wine tour in the picturesque lands of Georgia. This journey through the heart of Georgian wine country was an enchanting adventure that tickled my taste buds, stirred my soul, and left me with indelible memories of authentic places and the finest wines I have ever tasted.

From the moment we arrived in Georgia, the warm hospitality of the locals embraced us like old friends. Our expert guide, well-versed in the region's viticulture history, added depth and insight to every stop along our tour. The tour took us off the beaten path, avoiding the touristy destinations in favor of hidden gems and family-owned vineyards, which is exactly what we were hoping for!

The vineyards we visited were nothing short of magical. Tucked away in lush valleys and overlooked by ancient monasteries, each vineyard seemed like a well-kept secret. Our hosts took us through their vineyards, passionately sharing stories of generations of winemakers, and the traditional winemaking techniques passed down through time.

One of the highlights of this tour was the opportunity to witness the revered Georgian winemaking process firsthand. In the qvevris (large clay vessels buried underground), we saw grapes fermenting naturally with their skins, stems, and seeds – a traditional method dating back thousands of years. This unique approach lends the wine a distinct character and taste, something you can never experience in mass-produced wines.

The wine tastings were simply divine. Each sip transported us to a realm of unparalleled pleasure. The Saperavi, a robust red wine with deep notes of blackberries and spices, was a true revelation. The amber-colored Qvevri wines, with their complex, earthy flavors and an enticing bouquet, were unlike any other wines I've tasted in my life.

Amidst the vineyards, we were treated to delectable Georgian cuisine, featuring sumptuous dishes like khachapuri, khinkali, and mtsvadi. The locals' pride in their culinary heritage was evident in every mouthwatering bite.

Our tour also included visits to historic wineries, where the art of winemaking is showcased in meticulously preserved cellars. The fusion of modern winemaking practices and ancient traditions highlighted the dynamic evolution of Georgian wines while honoring its age-old roots.

The tour's perfect blend of culture, history, and wine left us enchanted and inspired. We left Georgia with not only a newfound appreciation for wine but also a profound respect for the country's heritage and the passionate people behind these exceptional wines.

In conclusion, my Georgian wine tour was nothing short of an extraordinary odyssey. The authenticity of the places we visited, the richness of the wines we tasted, and the warmth of the people we met surpassed all expectations. If you seek a wine journey that transcends the ordinary, immersing yourself in Georgian wine culture is an experience you cannot afford to miss. I will cherish these memories forever, and I am already counting down the days until my next Georgian wine adventure!
