Our visit to Krakow was mainly to visit Auschwitz and Birkenau so this part of our stay in Krakow was important. Christopher and his colleagues really did provide a first class service. We were collected from our hotel and driven to Auschwitz where we met our educator/guide Anna who provided a compassionate and detailed history of Auschwitz. The beauty of a private tour is you can circumvent bigger groups and have an entirely more enjoyable (if that is the right word) and personal experience. We then moved onto Birkenau to continue our education and believe me it really is. While we might think we know about it, we don’t. The tour has given me a much deeper understanding of what those who perished here experienced at the hands of the Nazi regime. It is an experience I will never forget. Our thanks to Christopher for organising our day and making it as memorable as possible.

I cannot recommend Christopher and his team enough. We were fortunate to enjoy a private tour of Auschwitz and a walking tour of Schindler’s factory and the Jewish ghetto. Christopher was a pleasure to deal with, very responsive, knowledgeable, kind and trustworthy. Everything was easy to arrange and excellent value for money. Thank you Chris and Joanna for a very memorable experience. Also, buy a copy of Christopher’s book, it’s a very good read and prepares you for your trip to Krakow.

We were fortunate to experience a day with Christopher, visiting Auschwitz and the Salt Mines, and we couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. From the initial contact, to the trip planning, to the actual day, everything was handled well and turned out to be exactly what we wanted. We didn’t know just what to expect when visiting such a solemn site and our day was more than perfect. Even my history nerd husband learned a lot!
We would definitely recommend Christopher for any tour in Poland. You won’t be disappointed.

What an experience! We had booked a guided tour of Auschwitz and Birkenau and were collected on time from our apartments in a luxurious minibus/people carrier. Christopher shared so much interesting knowledge both on the way and coming from the tour. The private host at Auschwitz and Birkenou were so emotional, but made so very special by Dorota (Dorothy) and her personal journey. I would very highly recommend this company & will most definitely return to Krakow and book again with them.

Christopher was an amazing tour guide and all around travel "assist"!! He arranged a private tour of Auschwitz, restaurant reservations and airport transport for us. He is very knowledgeable, engaging, pleasant and just a pure treasure as a trip and tour guide! We 100% recommend him and his group if you are ever planning a trip to Krakow! We were a group of 6 who all thoroughly enjoyed our day. It was expertly arranged and the day seemed to go so smoothly. We were so impressed by the knowledge on show and the ease at which we settled into our drive to the camp and we learnt so much. A fantastic experience and one we would all recommend.

Our experience was amazing. Thomas was an EXCELLENT guide and full of stories and information. We did both the Auschwitz tour and the JP2 Museum. They made it very easy for us, and suggested an awesome lunch spot in between. In addition, they recommended several great restaurants for dinner and made all the reservations in advance for us. They also helped arrange transfer to and from the airport. Overall, they ensured we had an awesome time in Krakow and made it super simple for us. I highly recommend!

We checked the various Krakow tour operators well in advance of our trip, and decided to use Private Tours Krakow because of the level and quality of communication right from the initial email with Christopher Skutela.
We booked walking tours of the Jewish Quarter and the Old Town, and tour of Auschwitz.
A colleague of Christophers called Joanna was our guide for both the walking tours. She met us at our hotels on both occasions, turning up exactly on time. Joanna was excellent. She has a lovely personality, with a wealth of knowledge relating to Krakow, its surrounding area and Poland in general, from medieval to modern day history. Plus she knows some excellent coffee stops to call into en route.
We were fortunate enough to have Christopher for the drive to and from Auschwitz. Following a warm, welcoming introduction in our hotel lobby, we boarded his very comfortable six seater Mercedes. We soon discovered that Christopher is an extremely knowledgeable person, and during the drive gave us a fantastic insight into the history, architecture and culture of Krakow and its people, along with an excellent preface into Auschwitz – Birkenau.
Upon arrival at Auschwitz he introduced and handed us over to the private guide he had arranged for us. A lady called Halina, whose knowledge was not only outstanding but personal too. The pace of the tour was perfect, and the experience made all the better because we were with a dedicated private guide. An incredibly moving day that we will always remember, and completely worth the price.
We feel so fortunate to have found Christopher. He and his colleagues are, without doubt what made our first visit to Krakow a unique experience.
We would highly recommend Private Tours Krakow to anyone intending to visit Krakow and the Southern Poland.

Christopher Was a superb tour guide and I would suggest him to everyone he went out the way to give us extra information about anything we asked his knowledge was superb. He even went out the way and call and booked a restaurant. A great man with a great brain perfect for the trip and super accommodating
