This tour was a great value and I really enjoyed it. Braulio and Roberto were our guides and they were both friendly, knowledgeable, and had great energy. I feel like I got exactly what I wanted and a diversity of experiences: shopping, Chichen Itza, the cenote, and Vallodolid. A nice lunch is also included.

There is a lot of selling from local shopkeepers (not the guides) on the way to and at Chichen Itza but that should be expected and I’d encourage people to support the descendants of the Maya and their local economy by purchasing some souvenirs.

Tip well!!!

Well! 50 minutes late we left Tulum for a full day excursion. Delays can obviously be expected in Mexico, so it is perhaps nothing to get hung up on.
It was a hot day and the two guides needed eight (8!) seats for themselves and their bags. This meant that their guests were relegated to the back of the bus, us at the very back where the bus's AC left a lot to be desired. It became very unbearably hot, closer to 30° than 20° and the air was getting worse every minute.
Also, which is more serious, the seat belts were unusable. One seat back could not be folded down - in the "new nice bus", it was also not unclean with, among other things, broken glass.

The first leg of the journey lasted almost 2 hours and of course it is good to have multilingual guides. Our one guide chose to show his skills by mixing English and Spanish in the same sentence. For more than an hour he used this technique which resulted in an incomprehensible rascal. Pretty soon we got tired of listening.
However, during a several-minute explanation, we understood which rules applied to the bus toilet, preferably what was not allowed and also not suitable in a bus toilet. Now it didn't really matter because the toilet was still locked.

At our first stop we pointed out the problem with the AC and non-functioning seat belts. It yielded no result.
At this stop, however, we got some information about Mayan culture and were "cleansed" in a ceremony. A lunch buffet of mediocre quality was also served here. It was, of course, what we expected, so there was no disappointment.
The rest of the stop was a sales exercise, but you're not forced to buy anything if you don't want to.

The journey continued to Chichen Itza. One of the guides (the English tour) proved very knowledgeable about the history and the Mayan people. This was a very hot day with temperatures well above +30°. Unfortunately, we were already overheated after the bus ride, so halfway through the tour we were forced to retreat to an air-conditioned restaurant at the entrance.

After the visit to the main destination of the tour, which for our part was a bit bumpy, we had once again complained (in a slightly raised voice) about the comfort in the bus and then the guides came to their senses and could obviously manage with fewer seats for themselves.
The journey continued somewhat cooler to Cenote Saamal where there was the possibility of swimming. Beautiful facility.

After the visit to the cenote, the bus journey continued to Valladolid, a city with just under 40,000 inhabitants. The city had its main income from rope manufacturing (rope wood) until the end of the 1960s and then significantly more inhabitants.
There was a short stop of half an hour at the town square before we turned the course towards Tulum an hour and a half away.

Overall, we felt that this could have been handled better in several ways so that we could have gotten more out of a full day excursion. Above all, the standard of the bus, but also the way in which information is presented.
For future travelers, we recommend choosing another organizer.

What a trip! Roberto the tour guide was awesome and was really passionate and friendly. Bus had proper AC and a good amount of history was told during the rides. I would 100% recommend this as a quite cheap option to get to these three magical places. Thank you again, from the finns! Biggest bonus is that they send whatsapp messages with really clear instructions of the pick-up point and other details. Really helpful group in general. Only small minor inconvenience was that you have to pay 22 USD tax on top of the price mentioned here (but this might have been sloppy reading from me as well...)

David the tour leader was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable on Chitchen Itzá. The highlight of the trip was swimming in the cenote. We would definitely recommend this day trip

It’s was great. We could have spent more time at Valladolid if we left earlier and on time. Cite town and worth spending a few hours in. Chichen Itza was great.

I’ve done many trips to UNESCO level sites and Chichén Itzá does not disappoint. It was far better than I expected. As to the operator, it is a nonstop and relentless sales pitch fest and guilt trip. Sure, you expect people to try to sell things and you want to help the local economy but geese. Just when you think it is over they are right back in your face.

The Chichen Itza is a marvel worth visiting, despite a ton of tourist there. I wish we had more time for exploring it. Also, the cenote note was very beautiful. I strongly recommend visiting it. However, the previous comments about this tour being a tourist trap are correct. Throughout the tour it felt like we need buy and tip, repeat and repeat. When travelling, I like to support local communities, but this time it was too much. This spoiled the whole experience.

The attractions were great! The let down was the facilitation of the day by the tour company, organised chaos. It was very disappointing to only reach our first destination Chichen Itza by 2.30pm as we spent most of the morning checking In with the tour company. My recommendation would be to do this tour privately, maximise your time at the sites instead of rushing and only being at the attractions for 30-60 minutes. Not worth considering travelling in such large groups and the lunch was definitely not worth the time.

The price was OK considering that you get the transportation, food, and guide. It's cheaper and more convenient than going alone, but I would prefer to spend a little more to get a better experience.

On the bus ride the guide was selling calendars, and the first stop was at a gift shop where they gave a 20 minute sales pitch to sell obsidian statuettes. We spent as much time at the gift shop as we did at Chichen Itza.

I did not enjoy the tour of the ruins. We did the tour in Spanish and the guide did not explain much about the history of Chichen Itza or the Mayans. He claims that there are murals depicting Vikings and African slaves. He claimed that some carvings represented the Chinese and their early firearms. At the Temple of the Jaguar he claimed that inscriptions make reference to the Roman, Phoenician, Egyptian, and Turkish Empires. These are extremely bold claims and most of it does not even make sense chronologically. YouTube is the only place I could find where anyone makes these kinds of claims.

The stop at Valladolid was only 45 minutes. Just enough time to eat and go to the bathroom.

Our guide was so bad that it made the experience that much more entertaining. There was constant concern on the bus ride there that he was going to collapse from either a heart attack or whatever ailment was affecting him. He confessed to us at the cenote that he had an infection in his throat that was hindering his voice. This made so much sense since he was giving the tour in both english and spanish, and given that we were all bilingual, it was surprising that none of us could understand what he was saying. Poor guy...he tried. The cenote part was absolutely beautiful and the little town that they take you to eat lunch at before the Chichen Itza portion felt like a cash grab, a few of our crew really felt a connection with the readings they received about their names. The food there was also quite good, it was simple, but I feel that's what made it quite good.
