Gallipoli Peninsula is located on north-western Turkey, near to Istanbul about 5 hours driving distance by car. The Gallipoli Peninsula is the site of extensive First World War battlefields and memorials on the north bank of the Dardanelles Strait. It is a commemorative site for the Allied (British Empire, France) and Turkish forces who fought, died, and were wounded there. Today there are many memorials for Turkish and ANZAC soldiers who lost their lives there.

The transport was very comfortable, so convenient having g wifi access. The driver stopped regularly for breaks. Volkan was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about Gallipoli and Australia’s involvement. It was so helpful to hear the story from Turkey’s perspective and to walk through the sites as he told the stories. It was hot but he found shady spots, moved us along gently when we needed to get to the next place. Highly recommend this tour. Great English. And he found a very affordable but tasty place for lunch.

Guide, driver and tour all outstanding. Interactive experience highlighting both ANZAC and Turkish perspectives. Very comfortable drive, time to explore and great community location for seafood lunch albeit a little later in day.

Very good guide, a very well organized tour. The site of Troy a little abandoned, other than that an interesting experience

It is a long drive to Troy and Gallipoli, the comfortable minivan was good. The driver and guide Volkan ensured we had enough bathroom and lunch breaks. We visited Troy on the first day, which meant we visited the Gallipoli WW1 sites earlier the next day as the weather was hot. Volkan had a wealth of knowledge and was adept at arranging visits to the various Gallipoli sites avoiding buses and crowds. A memorable couple of days.

Long day and difficult for the guide to keep engaging us but worth doing.
Once in a lifetime experience that all Australians should try and do.

Gallipoli is a long way from Istanbul and we only had the day to travel down to see it and pay homage to our fallen heros.
Guided tours Istanbul picked us up at our hotel at 7.30am and returned us at 8pm.. We travelled in a luxurious vehicle and what Mustafa our guide didn’t know about Turkey and particularly the allied offensive at ANZAC cove wasn’t worth knowing. It was a faultless day that we would do again in a heart beat.
Our thanks go to Mustafa for making it a day we will always remember.
