Unfortunately, the driver of the transportation van from another Viator tour pick my wife up at the Secrets Resort in Tulum. Both the bell man and the driver confirmed this was our ride. I said my name and the driver indicated yes this was our ride. We rode for over 1 hour past Playa Del Carmen to only find out we were on the wrong shuttle. This driver gets an F for failure to communicate even though my wife is fluent in Spanish. Once we discovered the issue the driver dropped us off in Playa Del Carmen where we paid a Taxi driver over $50 to take us back to the hotel in Tulum. Our driver evidently showed up after 8:00 am for a 7:45 pickup. He didn't report that we failed to show until after he left the resort. Just a big mess and from now on we will confirm that are name is on the paperwork the driver has. We did this on the shuttle ride to the airport yesterday and the driver thought we were crazy that we asked to see our name.
When I called Viator to tell our story, they placed me on hold and contacted the travel company. They told them we didn't show up and therefore we forfeited our $250.00. I asked for a supervisor and was on hold about 1 minute and they disconnected my call. Needless to say, we spent over $300 including the taxi ride to waste over 3 hours of our vacation time. We used Viator in Greece last year for several excursions and everything was great. I guess when traveling to Mexico the excursion companies are not as accommodating. Unfortunately, the driver for the other tour company was the main problem, but Coba Tulum Experience should have understood the situation and at least provided a partial refund. it was doubtful any of the activities would have taken place given the rain all day. an Viator should also been more help. Horrible Experience.

Beware - We were staying at the Secrets Resort in Akumal Mexico. We booked the tour through viator. We were waiting at the resort at 7:35 am for a scheduled 7:45 pickup. A van driver pulled up and the bell man indicated this should be our ride. The driver said a name that started with a D and I said my name DeWitt and he gave me an affirmative nod. My wife that is fluent in Spanish asked the same thing but he really didn’t give a reply. We jumped on the van and rode for over an hour only to find out as we arrived at a location for another tour company that we were on the wrong van. Based on security at Secrets our driver was late and arrived after 8 am. We ended up being dropped off at Playa del Carmen and had to pay $50 taxi ride to get back to our resort. When we called Viator they contacted the Coba Tulum Experience tour company and they said no refund because we were not at the location when their driver arrived late. Of course we were not there, we were on the wrong van for another Viator excursion. Just pathetic customer service by Viator and both tour groups…Steve DeWitt

My mom and I went on this extreme adventure while vacationing in Tulum and we had a great time! My favorites were the cenote which had cliff jumping and a zip line then the ATVs! Our guides were super accommodating and fun, shout out Ebol and H! Only thing that could use some improvement for me was the horseback ride which was a little too laidback for my liking and could be more scenic or educational. Other than that it was a memorable experience and I would recommend! It also includes a tequila tasting at the end, no complaints!

The tour was a great experience for a first time visitor. Although certain parts of the excursion seemed rushed the tour guide was knowledgeable. I was with a group of 9 we didn’t know we couldn’t have our phones during parts of the excursion, for us it was a big deal because we are visiting from out of the country. The tour guide did his best to assure us that we were safe. The zip line was the best part for me. The ATVs need to be updated and maintained better. The lunch was bland but since it was at a restaurant there were other options available for purchase. Overall experience would be 4/5.

Shoutout to our tour guide Matteous! He was super friendly and helpful. Best activities because it’s private and well organized. Good for beginners with zip lining and horseback riding. The tequila tasting was a nice touch.

For the pickup service, we were required to complete the form, stating the hotel information, which included the hotel name and room number. There is absolutely no reason for the pickup service to know the room number as they can check for the name of the person's reservation in a specific hotel. We were moved up from the initial 1:30 pm reservation to 12 pm time slot because we never provided the hotel details as we did not stay at the hotel. They did say that there might be a risk of not being able to complete all of the activities, but we could settle everything on the spot.
Upon arrival to the location, we were met with a closed gate, which we opened. After opening the gate, we arrived to the check-in point, where we were required to fill in the waiver that we understand the risks of the activities (standard procedure). After filling out the waiver, we were told that we have to pay an additional insurance fee for the quadricycles and bikes, which is strange, since we were under the impression that the booking should've already included this in the booking. It seems that they might've had already damaged equipment and wanted to blame the participants for any damages.
We were also told to give up the van key so that it could be parked, and the key would not be given to us until after the completion of all the activities. We were offered an option to leave our belongings at the locker for an additional 100 pesos / $5 charge. The issue with this is that we would give up our valuables completely, which included our passports, cash, and electronics.
Regular ATV activities allow to bring fanny packs where you can store and keep your valuables at all times as well as film the activities. The cenote / ziplining activity had only 1 zipline, and in a group of 2+ you can definitely have 1 person participate and others film. In the events of the horseback riding and quadricycle riding, we could've used GoPros, which are usually attached to something. There is absolutely no reason for us to give up our belongings.
We had one person for whom we were waiting in the bathroom, and we were hesitant to allow someone who is not liable for the van to park it for us and to let the ATV company to keep the keys from both the van and the locker. As we were waiting for that last person who was in the bathroom, the ATV representatives started to surround our van, rushing us to start the activities. One of the ATV representatives went into the bathroom and started to rush that person in the bathroom as well. There were no people in site who were already participating the activities, which increased our suspicion even more. The rushing would've made sense if there were groups scheduled back to back, but that was not the case. As the person who was at the bathroom returned, we were asked to sign a waiver, explaining why we did not want to participate. We said we were not going to sign the waiver and left as there was no explanation provided for why we need to sign the waiver in the first place and what they were going to do with this information. Upon our departure, 3 ATV representatives were filming us. Once again, there was no reason for them to film us. We were rushing out because were did not want to be robbed or had anything more terrible happen to us.

Summary: did not feel like a safe and reliable experience.

Worst company in Cancun they will lie to you about everything they tell you , first of all our tour supposed to start at 12:00 but they came at 12:30 and it’s hour and a half away which we started at 2:00 . Second they will tell you no phones so you won’t take pictures and would ask $85 usd to air drop it to your phone . The manager of the photographer was super rude . We are tourists and they should never talk to tourists like that .
