Montalcino: Brunello Wine Tasting Experience

Lovely place and superb wine tasting.
Fantastic location not far from Montalcino. The Brunello was very good.

I found the excursion at the last minute and they were able to accommodate us into a very nice group of 8. The entire setting was great. The tour of the grounds was very informative and our host was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

The wines were exquisite. Buy a few bottles there, they are great wines.

The location for this winery was not correct. Castella Trechere was the meeting point which should have been Castella Altieri. Putting Trechere into the GPS caused us to go to a wrong location and look us many miles out of our way. Also, because of the location we lost GPS coverage multiple times. We called the winery to say we would be very late and the winery did accommodate us. Also, the write up indicated "food tasting" was included. Crackers should not be considered "food tasting".

We arrived like 20-30 min early to have a look around and had to use the restroom first. I tried to talk to one of the employees who looked super annoyed , and then finished the conversation she was having with her co-workers before she would even give us the time of day. The experience was a total disappointment, we got a brief (5 min) tour of the wine making process and history of the place. Even though this part was very brief, the guy giving the tour was enthusiastic and did a good job. We were then asked to go upstairs for the wine tasting itself where we got to try 3 wines out of which only two were the actual product. The last wine was not officially out yet but we got to sample it because they were out of the 2018. Can’t say much about the wine sampling since we didn’t get the full experience. The person hosting the wine tasting was the same unbothered woman who was our first encounter upon arrival. We ended up leaving the place 42 minutes after the tour started, by that time the tour was already finished anyways and there was this weird, unwelcoming feeling in general so we just decided to leave. Had high expectations of this place but it was the worst wine tasting experience we have been to and the most unwelcoming setting we have been to in Italy ever. Spend your money elsewhere.

Beautiful location, very informative, and our children (ages 7 and 10) could play in the grass while we enjoyed a great bottle of wine.

We loved our wine tasting experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and the place was just gorgeous. The wines were lovely. They were very accommodating since we traveled with children. Also very competitive price in comparison to other similar experiences.

We really liked the experience, we learned a lot, the guide seems to have a lot of knowledge on the subject of wine and everyone was very friendly.

Excellent wine tasting, and beautiful place, I fully recommend
