This was one of my favourite activities during my one month stay in Bali.
The trip to the start point from Kuta took around 2 hours but was definitely worth it.
Great English speaking guide provided our group of 6 with excellent information. The route isn’t challenging as most is downhill however the route through the rice fields needed care as the path is very narrow and uneven with many drainage chambers in the path. All of us navigated this without incident.
A superb as much as you can eat buffet lunch was provided at the end of the ride which was almost worth the cost of the trip itself.
A fantastic value for money day out which will remain in my memory for ever.
I highly recommend this trip.

Had a great day today with the team cycling down the hill and visiting the real Bali. Non stop fun for the 12 year old who loved the people, the village life and paddy fields. Finished off with a lazy afternoon with the Elephants.

Mason Adventure Cycling Tour is amazing. The moment start with hotel pick up, ON TIME, driver is very polite and friendly. Arriving at the ticketing all is systematic, toilet is clean. The journey starts from beginning by the professional guide. Explaining the culture, history, food, living of Balinese villagers. Suddenly the rain comes quite heavily, we can't managed to finished the cycle. The guide call the car to pick us up at the HUT. And bring us for a lunch at COCO Bambu. Nice, cleaned restaurant. Food is presentation and taste is number ONE. Chocolate made by MASON is so yummy, ROCK SALT DARK CHOCOLATE. After lunch, continue with Buggy ride. Again, it was raining. This professional guide brought us the raincoat. Well prepared. Despite of the rain, we are so happy and satisfied. Thank you for the kind staffs.

We booked the cycling tour with Mason Adventures because our hotel recommended it and said they were the best. I've been to Bali before and paid a lot less but also got a lot less. The drive up to the mountains in Ubud takes two hours so you don't want to do that in an uncomfortable unroadworthy van with no air con. The driver arrived on time for the pick up and the van was air conditioned. The tour guide Hassim was very young but very professional - lovely guy.
Bikes were ok, brakes worked so that's the main thing.
Beautiful scenery and apart from the first five minutes which were slight hills the rest of it was all downhill so not all that hard.
We ended the trip with a buffet lunch and it was amazing - Lots of variety.
Again the trip back was long but the bus was comfortable so all good.
Highly recommend this cycling tour.

Wasn't too sure about participating as both my husband & I in our sixties, but far surpassed our expectations. Whole tour booking & organisation very professional. Our guide 'Sim' was patient, spoke good English and was so informative throughout. It was a little challenging at start uphill, but Sim quite happy for me to walk up hill if necessary. Soon flattened out and able to absorb the beauty. Rest of ride flat or downhill. Sim always directing us safely and keeping a close eye on our progress. Learnt so much about traditional Balinese culture and the villagers so welcoming & friendly. Riding through rice paddies, villages, fruit & vegetable gardens & meeting local animals. Plenty of photo opportunities! Just excellent! Was surprised when we completed the ride as went quickly & didn't notice the distance travelled. The lunch at Mason chocolate factory was delicious & such a beautiful venue. So clean & the gelato and chocolate well worth sampling. Highly recommend this tour to all who are reasonably fit and know how to ride a bike. Transport both ways air-conditioned and comfortable.

We took this tour with Mason Adventures and were very impressed by the quality of the organisation. The tour was perfectly suited for our family, comprising of 3 young kids, from 7 to 12 yr old. The cycling is almost entirely downhill, with many pauses and a great level of attention by the guides.
The group is small enough (12 people with 2 guides), with a friendly atmosphere.
Mason's facilities are impressive, from the Ubud center to the arrival restaurant (Chocolate factory), and well worth the price.

My husband and I are both in our sixties but enjoyed the day. We started with a trip up the mountain to see Mount Batur, and the weather was perfect for this. Then we went to the cycle centre and were kitted out and given a briefing. We both cycle but it took me a while to get used to the gears as they were a different style from my own bike and they were a bit sticky at the start.
There was quite a bit of uphill early on which was challenging for me and then some rough downhill but the guides were excellent and made sure we were ok.
The lunch at the end was excellent and very welcome as we had been two hours pedalling and had several visits too so were out quite a long time.
Great day.

Was a great day out and fun ride. We went to a wonderful village and home of Wayan one of the guides and saw how and where his family live. The 3 guides were all very enthusiastic and loved telling us about their homes and have very good English. The lunch was fabulous too.

It turns out you can forget how to ride a bike and i discovered this the hard way... but i still had an amazing day, the staff are quick to respond, patient and have a very positive and caring attitude.
I was unable to complete the ride but sat in the van having a lovely chat with our tour guide and felt really included in the experience.

We were collected in Canggu by one of their drivers and driven to the starting point in the centre of Bali after stopping at a viewpoint to see the amazing views of Mt Agung and Mt Batur.

The cycle trip isn't for you if you want fast riding or challenging off road biking, but is great if you want a more relaxed trip that is mostly downhill along quiet roads, tracks and paths that go past farms and around paddy fields. There are regular stops in villages, local houses etc along the way to learn more about the culture and the way of life.

The bikes were in good condition and the 2 guides were friendly and really informative. The trip ended at the beautiful Mason restaurant for a good quality buffet lunch and a visit to their chocolate factory, followed by a lift back to Canggu.

In all a great day out and a highlight of our trip to Bali.
