Looe Key Marine Sanctuary is part of the Great Florida Reef, the only coral reef in the continental USA, and the third largest barrier reef system after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and the Palancar Reef in Mexico and Belize. It is a special place for snorkeling.

This was a fabulous trip for our family. The location was easy to find and everyone was terrific. The captain had everything we needed to ensure that our day was spectacular. He selected an amazing section of the reef and the underwater sites were incredible. This was well worth the expense. I don't think I would book another group snorkle excursion again, this trip has shown us how much better private tours can be.

Brian took great care of us, especially with a couple of weak swimmers in the group. We spent time at Looe Key then went for a tour of the area.

Captain Brian was an excellent captain and guide! He was willing to accept a last minute booking and went out of his way to accommodate our pick-up location. Our three young children told us the boat ride was their favorite part of our whole trip! Thank you, Brian, for a memorable experience!

The highlight of our trip! This was our second time going out with Captain Brian, and we will be back!
Captain Brian is experienced, kind, calm, and knowledgeable. He went 110% to make sure that we and our two elementary age kids had an amazing time! My kids say they loved seeing all of the reef fish and the fun boat ride.
The communication was great, as we had a windy week and we had to reschedule our snorkel trip for a few days later.
And bonus… Captain Brian takes pictures and sends them to you! (As a mom who almost never appears in family photos, this was a true treasure!)
Super kind, very professional, and an all-around awesome day! Thank you, Keys Boat Tours!

Amazing day on the water!
The snorkling was outstanding with all equipment provided along with thoughtful instruction and shared local natural history/eco background that we really appreciated and added to the experience. The fishing was fantastic. We caught several species and brought home some mangrove snapper which was skillfully processed back at the dock, allowing us to enjoy our fresh catch that evening. Allison and Brian are wonderful people and excellent hosts!

We did two separate boat trips with Keys Boat tours, snorkeling to Looe Key and then the Backcountry ecotour another day. Captain Brian is not only a very interesting person, he is a wonderful captain. He took great care to make sure the adults and the kids got to do everything we wanted to do, always in a safe manner. We knew he was keeping an eye out for our kids (one on a paddleboard and one swimming) so we could relax and swim/snorkel without also keeping an eye on them. Saw amazing marine life, swam in crystal clear waters, went paddle boarding through a mangrove tunnel, and did a little fishing. I would highly recommend him for any boat outing!

Captain, Brian and Allyson are excellent laid-back fun, informative and accommodating super people. We enjoy his book and we will definitely utilize their services again if in the area.

We would highly recommend a snorkel excursion with Keys Boat Tours. Captain Brian is incredibly informative about the Keys in general and the local reef ecosystem. After our 11 and 13 year old kids got a bit nervous snorkeling the offshore reef at Looe Key, he modified the trip and kept it interesting. Overall this was a highlight of our time in the Keys!

We had a wonderful afternoon with Captain Brian on his boat. 3 hours of fun, snorkeling and SUP. He had all the equipment needed, was very knowledgeable and planned the day very flexible. A great memory we will never forget. Thanks again!
