You’ll be taken on a guided excursion, where you’ll encounter the most important historical locations within La Candelaria; such as buildings where the first plans of the revolution were written and traitors to the revolution were hung; the Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center, the Plaza Chorro de Quevedo, Plazoleta del Rosario, Plaza de Santander, Plaza de Bolívar and the grand Church of Our Lady of Candelaria.
You will ascend almost 2,000 ft higher than Bogotá and the summit of Monserrate. For this you'll have the choice of either the teleferico (aerial tramway) or the funicular to the top, where you’ll have time to explore the artisan markets, visit a beautiful 17th century monastery and enjoy some of the most spectacular panoramic views of Bogota. You’ll learn how this mountain was sacred to the indigenous Muiscas people for hundreds of years, how during the June solstice, the sun rises exactly behind Monserrate and how hundreds of pilgrims journey to this destination every year

I was traveling solo on a one-day layover in Bogota, and I wanted to be able to see the sights while being safe in the short amount of time. Carlos was my Tour guide and he picked me up from my hotel and took me to Montserrate and La Candelaria. He was very knowledgeable, I got to try some of the local cuisine, and he dropped me off at my hotel after. Would recommend this company to anyone visiting Bogota.
