The hike through the gorge was spectacular, although you have to watch every step. The path is very rocky/uneven, and going downhill. We assumed the guide would walk with us, and tell us about the gorge, but we were completely on our own for 8 kilometers. After the hike we went to a village for lunch and the beach, but there was no set departure time. The guide left us to figure it out. The other two guests wanted to stay much longer than we did. It's a long drive back to Heraklion, and we didn't want to get back at 8PM, after having started at 7AM. So, we ended up taking a cab back, which cost us 140 euros. We were disappointed in the excursion.
