We booked a private tour for Konya especially because I had read a lot of books by Rumi, the famous Sufi poet. Not only was I mesmerised by the architecture, history and rituals that were kept intact after centuries but also amazed at the absolute attention paid for the monument’s maintenance.
Our tour became 5 star because we had Ali as our guide and he himself had added so much to our knowledge about the place and it’s history.
His car, demeanour and overall experience were super comforting and we were able to finish the whole tour in 4-5 hours including lunch.
I would recommend this to everyone who is visiting Turkey.

Tour guide Ali was excellent, knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. He has a good command over the English language. We had a last min flight cancellation by Turkish airlines and Ali helped us maneuver through that as well (he is also a travel agent!). This was our last day in Turkey. If we had more days, We would opt to do more tours with Ali. I will recommend him to my friends and family.

This one day tour to Konya was a perfect day! We discovered a great part of the silk road and an ancient carawansarai where you still feel the vibrant atmosphere of old times before we headed to Konya. Ferai, our guide, knows a lot about Rumis and Shams lifes, their teachings and anecdotes, it was so interesting to listen to her. I had enough free time to visit Rumis tomb and the ancient dervish lodge to know more about daily life there and how people could become a dervish. We also visited a madrasa with one of the most beautiful entries in Turkey.
Lunch was also great, we went to a restaurant with typical Konya food, excellent! And since it was a small group, we could ask all our questions and not just learn about Sufism, but also about Turkey in general. Ferai and Ali, thank you so much again for this unforgettable day!
