The Margaret River Kayaking and Winery Tour is not your standard Margaret River Wine Tour. At Surf N’ Dirt Adventure Tours we like to start the day with a Kayaking Adventure in the morning before spending the afternoon enjoying the finest wines, gourmet produce and natural wonders that Margaret River has to offer.

Unlike the big bus tours, we pride ourselves on exploring the hidden gems of the region and offering unique ‘behind the scenes experiences’ which aren’t available to everyone.

Another added benefit of this tour is that you have the option of requesting the Margaret River Wine and Adventure Tour wonder dog- Mojo- to come along and join in on the fun. He loves people, is great with kids and has a real passion for kayaking, swimming and wine touring.

1. Blackwood River National Park
We start the day by journeying into Blackwood River National Park where an unforgettable Kayaking Adventure awaits. Make yourself comfortable in our spacious double kayaks as we explore the tranquil waters of the Blackwood River as native wildlife entertains both above and below. The Blackwood River is one of Western Australia’s premier kayaking locations and is surrounded by beautiful untouched scenery and wildlife. A relaxing mornings paddle along the river whilst manoeuvring around fallen trees and spotting the local wildlife characterizes our Margaret River Kayaking tour which is perfect for all levels of kayakers. It is one of Margaret River’s hidden gems and is definitely a ‘must-do’ experience when visiting the region. Following the kayak you have the opportunity to enjoy an incredible wild swimming experience in a stunning creek system.
2. Berry Farm
The Berry Farm is every Margaret River local's favourite food destination. Enjoy an incredible lunch, sample their homemade jams, ciders, fruit liqueurs and desert wines. Explore their amazing gardens and spot a range of stunning birds.
3. Brown Hill Estate
Enjoy a personalised wine-tasting experience at a private table in Brown Hill Estate's winery. Brown Hill's cellar door sits at the heart of the boutique winery and is operated by friendly members of this family-owned business. Their knowledge of the Margaret River region, their wines and their vineyards is exceptional. The cellar door is located inside the winery, so you can observe the winemaking process as it happens throughout the year. Brown Hill's 24-hectare vineyard was established in 1995 and is family run and owned by the Bailey family. They are one of the most awarded wineries in the region and offer an unforgettable wine tasting experience. The down-to-earth, friendly spirit of the Margaret River region is reflected in Brown Hill Estate’s wines, made with traditional boutique winemaking methods, including hand-picking and hand-sorting all their estate grown fruit, and loads of attention to detail.
4. Redgate Wines
Redgate Wines is one of Margaret River's pioneering wineries, having been established in 1977. It is still family owned and run by the Ullinger family and offers an incredible winetasting experience. Their Sparkling Bubbles, Rose, Chilled Red and Dessert Wines are all local favourites and offer a fantastic balance to the more traditional wines on their list (Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc). In their charming cellar door you will enjoy a personalised wine-tasting in a relaxed environment as you sample some of the finest wines of this region.

What an amazing tour! Definitely worth doing. Had the best time on the river followed by an amazing tranquil lunch and then awarded with some very good wine to end the day. Paul was such an amazing guide, telling stories and gave some historical background of the area. Highly recommended.

A lovely day started with a paddle down the Blackwood River, then lunch and visits to 2 wineries. Paul was a relaxed, friendly and knowledgeable host who took us on a beautiful peaceful river that we had to ourselves, a delicious lunch at the Berry Farm in a garden setting and then 2 visits to great family owned and operated wineries whose wine was fab.

What a great day out. Paul’s kayaking spot on the Blackwood River is utterly beautiful, and his knowledge of the nature of the area really added to the experience. Beautiful kayaking, followed by a delicious lunch and two great wine tastings, with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. What more could you ask? Just the company of the adorable Mojo! Thanks Paul!

I was with my sister and daughter for 4 days in Margaret river,(only in WA for 2 weeks )
Laura booked the tour , I had never kayaked before so was a bit nervous/apprehensive!
Paul picked us up from our motel at the agreed time ,.
Communication with Laura had been excellent before the day .
I had nothing to be nervous about ,
Paul put me at ease , gave me a life jacket and talked me through everything, I was in his kayak, .
I really enjoyed it,thank you Paul.
The lunch at Berry farm was delicious, and the trips to the two vineyards finished off the day nicely,
I highly recommend This tour,
Paul was a great operator,
There was 2 others on the tour also ,

This was one of the best tours we have been on - Paul was a brilliant guide from the moment I booked, with excellent communication, until he dropped us off at the end of the day. The kayaking experience on the Blackwood River was fabulous - Paul kept us entertained with historical and ecological stories and took photos of us as well. Our lunch at The Berry Farm was delicious and the surroundings stunning. Then on to the two winery tours which were excellent - both provided a great mix of tasting opportunities.
I would urge anyone planning a trip to Margaret River to book this ‘Surf and Dirt’ tour with Paul, who was one of the most friendly and engaging guides we have experienced.
