What to expect:
We will go sightseeing through the center of Cancun and discover a cool "un-classic" Cancun. During this tour your art expert will show you where to find prominent street art, what's the story behind it and who it's done by. You will learn the language of the graffiti world, see the most current and relevant works of leading graffiti artists, understand what brings street artists to paint on walls and engage in an interesting conversation about art, people, values and significant messages.
At the end of the tour, we will talk about the transformation of the area and will have a deeper understanding of the art scene in Mexico.
This is a private tour. We require a minimum of three people or a booking for three people if there one or two guests.

A nice walk (but it is almost 2 two-hour walk, so be prepared) around Cancun with seeing many murals. If street art is of interest to you - this will be a pearl of the visiting Cancun. By ourselves, we would not find even a small portion of it and would know no historical facts behind it.

What a wonderful experience. I was on a very nice resort that someone else picked. I really questioned as I was heading into town if I was making the best use of my time by leaving. Man oh man was this tour with it. Firstly I love street art and have been on several street at walking tours in other places so I knew what I was going for but Jon @jonathanbautista was an excellent tour guide, an artist himself and resident of cancun I felt like I really understood so much more context of the city and the past five years of the city in a way I never would have otherwise. He was fantastic and let me prattle on about comparisons to Toronto very graciously ( I was the only one on my tour so I wasn't annoying anyone else I promise.) There is some shockingly good artist in Cancun - I knew there would be but the layering and layering of culture and symbolism and sheer beauty in the work totally bowled me over. I felt safe at every point of the tour and we didn't go anywhere remotely dangerous. He also had great Paleta recommendations. I am thinking about going back to Cancun and it's because of this experience. Otherwise it kind of felt like any other resort vacation. This made Cancun feel like a destination city in and of itself.
I got recommendations from residents to use uber and not cabs. This is what I did and felt very safe and had good experiences using uber both ways.

Street art tour is he best way to explore neighborhoods of Cancun, since being such a young city it cannot offer much signature places in terms of history or architecture. But the artistic arena is great and this tour helped us to discover Cancun from new perspective by enjoying masterpieces of local and international artists through graffiti and murals. Michelle, our guide, who is an artist herself took good care of us introducing us to the vibrant forms and colors of the Cancun’s street art scene. Highly recommended if you’d like to treat yourself with something more than only beach life :)

John was wonderful! Very informative about the area and history of Cancun. He had a unique perspective since he is an artist and photographer, and was able to give insight on the murals.

The tour was perfectly timed and very informative. We had opportunities to take as many photos as we wanted. Very relaxed atmosphere, lovely tour guide, would recommend this tour to all.
Thank you Michelle for showing us around downtown Cancun. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and to learn so much about the murals that we saw on our tour.

Excellent tour! This was my 3rd time doing it and it’s different each time. I highly recommend this! The insight of what message the artist is sending, techniques used in their art and even some history of Cancun!

My husband and I enjoyed our art tour very much!! The art was beautiful and each piece had a detailed story behind it, which we would not have gotten without our guide, John. John was super knowledgeable of the area and even showed us a quesadilla restaurant he recommended on our route (we stopped there for lunch after the tour, it was delicious)! Definitely recommend this tour and John if you want to venture outside Hotel Zone and see some authentic Mexican culture.😊

John was fantastic! Very knowledgeable about culture and the art itself. Ask questions because he is great in getting you more detail.
The only problem was meeting up. There was no house with the actual address on it. This is not a problem. You will come to a square with a park having LOTS of murals. Go there and wait. And while you wait, check out the wonderful murals behind you and get you mind working.
John also knows a variety of restaurants for different cuisines including plant-based.
