This rum distilling experience is a very hands on, bespoke, personal and very knowledgeable workshop like no other in the country. Upon entry to the building you will be warmly greeted by your host upstairs at the main entrance. You shall then be guided to our bespoke micro distillery and once settled you are given a welcome rum and mixer followed by a brief outline of the running of the experience and history of the distillery. Next comes a short history of rums from around the world and a rum tasting section to help you come up with a rum recipe to distill your bottle of rum. Guests then pick a total of 6-10 ingredients from our botanical library to help them create and distill their own rum bottle. While distillation takes place, guests enjoy a rum cocktail. When distillation finishes, guest bottle their rum, add a label with their chosen rum name and finally wax seal their bottle to take away with them.

Geweldige middag! Neil had alle tijd voor ons tweeën en we hebben uiteindelijk beide een eigen fles rum gemaakt. Na uitleg, een lesje geschiedenis en heel veel ruiken gestart met destilleren van Koala Magic & Captain Jaap 🥃🥃

Fantastic, informative and fun experience with Neil who was so enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining. We learned so much about the origins and varieties of rum but in a relaxed, informal and fun way. Sampled different flavourings which culminated in distilling our own rum recipe. Thoroughly recommend 👌.

I didn’t know what to expect but it totally surpassed my expectations. Neil was our host and he was so so good. It was just me, my husband and Neil so we were able to really enjoy our time and go deep into the history of rum. Neil is extremely knowledgeable and he’s funny to boot. We ended up staying there for a little over 4 hours lol. I would definitely recommend - one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Edinburgh.

Great afternoon with Neil at the Rum School, Edinburgh. Neil was extremely informative about the history of rum and gave us a taste of the different styles of rum before helping us to make our own distillation using the variety of botanicals available.
