the details in the itinary quoted transfer from hurghada to luxor by A/C bus what it does not tell you that this is a 'grubby' public bus, no english speaking people and without any trip guides to help. it takes about 6 hours to reach luxor and good luck picking the right stop to get off.

the outbound transfer was that bad we ended up paying £170.00 for a private taxi to take us back to hurghada at the end of the trip, there was no way we were getting back on the bus!

we paid for breakfast x 2 but only got one due to being picked up at 04.30am for our transfer to aswan train station, another grubby way to travel wihout guides.

the initial trip date got cancelled at very short notice so we had to forfit other plans and re-arrange............ totally disorganised tour operators to say the least.

to top it all my complaints have fallen on deaf ears in terms of a partial refund i would definately stay clear of this trip if i was you!!

We decided to take the boat from Luxor to Aswan to see what the experience would be like. It was even more amazing than we thought. The organizers were very helpful and answered all questions, we had Aly and Summer talking to us before the trip, and explaining everything. Then we were met in Luxor by Star, who was very kind and helped us to get on the boat. Reception was very welcoming, George was working in reception and helped us to feel comfortable. We were greeted with nice welcome drinks by our tour guide Ismail who immediately made us feel at ease and sent us our program for the next day. Ismail is really very helpful and considers guests as his family. We were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. Delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet or Ala Carte. Service in the restaurant was very nice, Zakareya and Mohammed helped us with everything. During the day be ready to pay for the drinks as they are extra charge but I guess it is expectable on a boat. Manager Hassan also introduced himself and welcomed us. The deck upstairs is wonderful and you can enjoy the divine scenery of the Nile. Our room was also a pleasant surprise. It was very clean, comfortable and had everything needed except for Hair dryer. HK was very nice also and very good at cleaning the room. There was evening music and dancing while we were there, so we really enjoyed ourselves and for sure we will come back to this wonderful cruise ship and its positive and dedicated team 🌹. A huge thank you to you guys.

First of all the title does not match what we did. But it was a menu I had to choose something..... be clear, we did a two night Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor... no ballooning, no Hurghada, but it does explain why our tour was sold (silently) to another tour company without our knowledge.... this tour company doesn’t offer our tour, but they wanted the money...

Anyway, this is my second review of two Nile Cruises we did. Neither cruise was worth the $1000 we paid in total...and entrance fees at tour sites are not included.....and if you want to to actually see the Queens Tomb in the Valley of Queens, that will cost $100 extra, after the entrance fees!

We were greatly disappointed by our round trip choices from Luxor to Aswan and back, but choosing two different tour companies, however, it lends weight to my complaints...

IF you choose to do a Nile cruise, and God help you if you do, make sure you know the name of the boat your tour company is booking for you, BEFORE you get to the dock.... there are hundreds of cruise boats around.....we were told where to go, but our boat was not there.. it had moved.

In our case, by the time the tour company emailed me the name of the boat, I noticed they had also “sold” our booking to another operator, which were not informed about. Once I had THAT tour company name, we could find our boat. BUT, we were not expected on the boat at all. All the way up to reception telling us we could pay to stay. What? I had a ticket, and proof of payment, but Egyptians do not know who or what Viator is! I said we were no way paying again. It worked out, once we learned our booking was sold to another tour company... in tiny lettering I found that name, and then reception could find us.

Bring lots of money, because unless entrance fees are included in your package, you can spend about $200 for two people, visiting the ancient grounds.

While this boat was newer and in better shape, and did not break down, only half of the trip was enjoyable, because once another boat tied off to our boat, blocking any view of the Nile and pending sunset, we were broken hearted. (See photos)

For the rest of the cruise.. about sixteen hours we had no window view, and we were breathing diesel fumes from that boat that ran its nasty engine the whole time. Complaining does no good, because they all act like they can’t understand English... and they do not care.

Luxor and Aswan are full of dishonest people, beggars, pushy locals trying to get money out if us, poor air quality, smoking on the boats and hotels, (next to no smoking signs) and crap taxi vehicles. We could not wait to leave Egypt.

What a horrible experience! (We were in Egypt two years ago in Cairo and Giza. We had an amazing time! Not so much in Luxor and Aswan

Be aware, as we were not, the following points:

If you book a Nile cruise, the boat ownership operates separate from the tour companies.

The boat provides transportation, food and lodging. That’s it. They can not answer any touring questions.

Our SIM card package on our phones did not work in this part of Egypt. I have a Skype account. It also did not work.

All passengers on the boat have multiple tour companies, so it’s crazy confusion when we dock and group for tour time. When the boat docks, ya just kind of wander around the boat lobby hoping the guide comes to find you.... each tour has different guides... English speakers as promised.. eh

The tour companies claim a list of what’s included if you book with them.... but unfortunately, the boat company does not honor any promises made by the tour company. “What’s included” is not accurate, so be aware.

I booked our cruises through Viator. I had a ticket and proof of payment. Egyptian. Boat companies do not know what, or who Viator even is. So getting on the boat, you won’t see your tour company to help you. If you arrange transfer by tour company after end if cruise, through Viator, you won’t get it. Thru only promise anything to get your business!

IF you choose to do a Nile cruise, and God help you if you do, make sure you know the name of the boat your tour company is booking for you, BEFORE you get to the dock.... there are hundreds of cruise boats around.....we were told where to go, but our boat was not there.. it had moved.

English is rarely spoken. Arabic is the language...

In our case, by the time the tour company emailed me the name of the boat, I noticed they had also “sold” our booking to another operator, which were not informed about. Once I had THAT tour company name, we could find our boat

We booked this whilst staying in Hurghada and were pleasantly surprised from the transfers from our hotel to the meals included. Everything ran smoothly and even included a transfer to Luxor airport as we weren’t returning to Hurghada.
The sites themselves were awe inspiring and Ghada ( good luck with the baby 😊) our guide was informative, whilst not being over bearing and allowing time to explore these wonderful sites ourselves.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this trip to anyone wishing to see this wonderful part of the world.
Just to add I’ve never been on a cruise although my friend I was travelling with has and he said the cabin was larger than in most cruise ships.
We have already discussed returning to spend more time and see more of the sites. We will return and look to do a longer cruise.

The Nile was amazing. It was wonderful to see the sights from the top of
the ship. We enjoyed the tours also. Having an Egyptologist made the trip easier and much more meaningful. Our guide hatem was very helpful and informative. We would not have seen as many interesting places and arranging transportation would have been difficult on our own.boat and food were excellent, highly recommended

A very enjoyable excursion which delivered everything it promised. The cruise was very five-star with its own swimming pool which was lovely in the heat, very clean and large cabins. The only disappointment on the cruise was that on all three days the Internet did not work at all. The excursion included amazing sights with a private tour guide, although one of the tour guides had absolutely no idea what he was talking about and gave incorrect information. I got the correct information from reading the signs throughout the temple. The other tour guides were very informative. The downside of the tour guides is that they take you afterwards to places where you are put under pressure to buy products you don’t want. The only disappointing part of the trip was that I was dropped at the cruise ship with absolutely no information of what would be happening for the next three days and considering there was no Internet on board it left me very nervous. It would be much better to receive a full program before the tour starts as to exactly what would be happening and where. On the first day I almost paid 20 Euros for a horse carriage ride not knowing there was a guide waiting for me and this was included in the ride. The guide found me at the last minute however I had no information beforehand that there would be a guide waiting. The Valley of the Kings was an amazing experience. The man in charge, Islam, was incredible and extremely wonderful and helpful. I would recommend this excursion but ask for a full program at the beginning.
