Travel back in time with this excursion to Ephesus from Izmir. You will tour the vestiges of one of the most surprising ancient cities in the Eastern Mediterranean.
We will pick you up at the indicated hotel at 8:00 am and travel in a comfortable minibus to Ephesus, an ancient city located on the Ionia coast.
After a trip of an hour and a half, we will reach the site of Ephesus, one of the great tourist attractions in Turkey, since it is one of the best preserved Greco-Roman cities in the country. Once there, we will take a guided tour of Ephesus to see some of its monumental jewels, such as the Library of Celsus, one of the most luxurious bibliographic archives of the Roman Empire in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Nearby we will find the Roman Theater. Did you know that it had a capacity for 24,000 people? It is impressive!
After the visit of Ephesus, we take a lunch.
On the other hand, you will also have traditional shopping opportunities for jewelry, leather, or ceramic centers.

Lots of fantastic views and rich history in this tour. The ruins truly were a sight to see. We had done the Hieropolis tour the day before but felt like Ephesus was much more of a complete city and experience than what remained at Hieropolis. We got lucky by having Erman Uslu as our guide for the second time and were fascinated to hear from him about the history of Ephesus and the importance it had over the years. The immersive movie experience at the museum was also a really nice added touch. This was the highlight of our time in Izmir and we would definitely do it again.

Went on a tour to Ephesus with Ezgi. She was a lovely tour guide and provided a lot of information and was able to answer all our questions. She also had a good balance of sharing info prior to arriving at the site while giving everyone time to relax on the ride. It was very hot (we went at the end of June) and there’s not a lot of shade, so a hat and some water is a must. It’s also worth noting that the marble is slippery in parts. There was someone in our group wearing platform sandals and they nearly fell several times. If you enjoy archeological trips, this was a good option. I would visit again. Lunch itself was an underwhelming buffet. We also did the Pergamon tour and went to a local pide shop which was a better option after all the site seeing.

We were picked up at our hotel by the guide, Selim, and a driver. The van was large and comfortable. My wife and I were part of a group of 8 people visiting Ephesus. On our way there, Selim explained a lot of interesting details about Turkey. We stopped at a pottery workshop and store in Selcuk. We watched a demonstration by the potter and several painters. Their work was incredibly beautiful. Ephesus itself was impressive, and the tour of the site lasted for about 2 hours. Selim was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The library of Celsus, the grand theater and the rest of the ruins were breathtaking. So much history in one place. After that were were driven to a restaurant where we had lunch. It was open buffet. The food was excellent and the place was pleasant. All in all, were were more than satisfied with the experience, and we highly recommend Viator and in particular Selim.

We have booked this tour of Ephesus using Tripadvisor. Erman Uslu was our guide and he was amazing! The van was airconditioned. There were 10 of us total (me and my friends plus another 7 people). Pickup was smooth. Exact details provided the night before via WhatsApp. Erman is a great communicator and a very knowledgeable guide. If you are coming to see Ephesus during summer months, bring a sun umbrella as it gets very hot. The site is beautifully restored! Many opportunities to get water and use the amenities. Great on-site VR/ multimedia center. Buffet lunch included in the price!

The tour was really nice. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She explained the history of Ephesus trying to separate facts and legend. The only negative point was that there were two groups, one that wanted to visit the house of Mary and one that didn't. Those of us who were on the latter had to wait for an hour after lunch with nothing to do or see.
I strongly recommend that if you visit in the summer, bring enough water.

Your guide was great, she was attentive and informative. Tour also included a stop at an art ceramics place and an optional tour to the site of the Virgin Mary. Bring good shoes, water, and a hat! One of those mini hand held fans is great! There’s rarely shade and the marble is slippery. It’s also very busy and gets crowded so go early. There’s an additional museum fee for the houses, it is optional. We also did the immersive experience which was included in our tour and that was fun. But be warned it is very hot, very bright, and very slippery. But worth it.

We were picked up from the hotel exactly on time and everything went according to schedule. It was interesting that we visited the traditional pottery workshop, and then the guided tour of the Ephesus archaeological site was very well explained.
Ezgi Gür is a very good professional guide.
Also the transport was comfortable, the driver was kind and attentive, and the car was very clean and with air conditioning.
The lunch was good, with specific local dishes.
