The famous Capuchin Catacombs of Palermo, one of the most famous mummies cemeteries in the world. Here in the company of an expert local guide, we will know the history of the over 2,000 embalmed mummies including the famous Rosalia Lombardo, called the Sleeping Beauty of Palermo. By visiting the various corridors of the underground cemetery, we will be able to understand much of the Sicilian society of the past and the various methods of mummification invented by the Capuchin friars.

We had an amazing tour of the catacombs with Simone. It was our favorite tour in Palermo! Simone was a fantastic guide. We were a mixed group of adults and teenagers and Simone captivated our group with his enthusiasm and stories. I highly recommend Simone as a tour guide!

For sensitive souls, refrain. This closed place presents the embalming of dignitaries and monks. It is worth seeing despite everything and the best is to have a guide.

Simone was an excellent tour guide giving us some interesting and lively information on some of the mummies found in the Catacombs. Definitely made to tour more informative. We would have miss many things without his guidance.

Simon is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the catacombs. You can tell how much passion he has for the site, and he seems genuinely excited to educate others on it, even though he’s obviously been many times. I highly recommend choosing Simon, because without a guide, the site can’t be fully appreciated. We arranged a private tour in advance with Simon, who was very easy to coordinate with.

Brilliant tour, Simon the guide was really knowledgeable and you can tell he loves his job. Everything is very thoroughly explained and it is very interesting. It is well worth having a guide so you can really appreciate the history behind the people there, as this would be difficult from just looking around. Again, great tour and would definitely recommend if you want to gain a proper understanding and appreciation for the catacombs

This is an absolute must-see place but be forewarned: it is very creepy, probably the creepiest and most disturbing thing I've ever seen in real life. There are tombs and mummies in other places, including the Cistine Chapel, Egyptian mummies, etc. But this place is the creepiest.
