Christiane gave us an amazing culinary tour of Braga!! Her choice of food at the various restaurants in Braga, along with her knowledge of the history of this town was impressive. We tasted local cheeses and Portuguese wine at a contemporary cheese shop, CorriQueijo, just outside the entrance to the old city Arch. Then we went just across the street and tasted the most delicious Cod fish cakes, a staple in Portuguese food. We tried two different ways of preparing them, and they were both delicious!! Here the cod fish was paired with a local beer. Then we walked through the town listening to Christiane talk about the historical significance of the town and went to the Braga Farmers Market and saw where locals can get their fresh produce, flowers, meat, and fish. Then we went to a funky bar that served Portuguese Pork sandwiches. I do not eat pork, and they very graciously accommodated me with a salmon sandwich which reminded me of a Portuguese version of a Bagel and lox sandwich. Then we had a chocolate tasting at Chocolate Equador...sublime!! Then onto Lusitano for our last indulgence of Cappucino and Cream puffs. It was a fantastic Walking Food Tour of the city of Braga and Christiane truly made the experience special!!

My wife and I had a wonderful time with Cristiane! She did a great job taking us places we never would have visited, and introduced us to foods we never would have tried. Along the way we learned about the history of Braga and Portugal.

This tour with Cristiane is definitely worth the time and money. You won’t regret it!
