The Rockland Bird Sanctuary is home to many species of birds, some endemic to Jamaica while others flew to the Island from other countries and make Jamaica their home. The bird sanctuary is located in the hills of a small community called Anchovy, approximately a 20-minute drive from the city of Montego Bay. The tour can last for 45 minutes to over 1 hour depending on the group's interest. Bird lovers will find this tour very fascinating as many different birds will fly from trees to the ground for you to feed them.
The hummingbirds, the national bird of Jamaica, are part of a special experience as you sit with a bottle of their favorite drink, wait for them to perch on your outstretched finger while you feed them from the bottle. Next, you will take a walk through the garden with the guide to see the different trees and herbs before the tour ends.

The Rockland Bird Sanctuary is a wonderful place to enjoy the birds and nature of Jamaica. The access road is difficult to find: drive uphill on the B8 in Reading and turn left before Anchovy and bump up the very steep Rockland Drive. Visitors can expect countless hummingbirds, which you can feed yourself. If you want, you can take a walk in the surrounding forest for an additional fee. The diversity of nature is incredible, and the staff at the sanctuary are friendly and knowledgeable.

We we're never picked up or contacted. Bird Feeding Sanctuary & M-Bay Tour 2/24 HORRABLE! Once we called them, they made nothing but excesses. Do Not Trust them!

I gave a three star review because I must say I was expecting a bit more. First and foremost I was the only when there at the time of my visit. Though it was fun feeding the different species of birds it would have been more enlighting if the host had provide general background knowledge about the birds..after like 10 minutes I was very bored. Like Isthis it, is there anything else to see or do.. I was expecting more birds, a tour or something. There really was no introduction before proceeding to feed the birds.

Kids (and us too!) enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds and finches! That’s about it, nothing else to do or see. There’s a separate entrance fee and it is a privately owned property. About a 20-min rocky ride from Montego Bay city limits, but an hour ride one-way from our Iberostar resort. Worth only if there’s nothing else to do and you want an activity not too far off from your location.

We where not able to do this excursion. After standing outside waiting for the tour company to arrive we had the bell hop call the tour company and they stated they sent an email the day before the tour in the afternoon changing the tour time from 9am to 130pm. My email service was spotty at best since arriving in Jamaica, so we never received the email. They had our phone number they could have tried calling, texting or the easiest would have been to call the Resort and leave a message for us to call them. When I got on the phone and spoke with the tour company the man said he assumed I got the message and when I told him I did not, and that I would have to cancel the excursion he got upset and kept questioning me on why we couldn’t just do the 130pm time change. We had a golf tee time already scheduled at for that afternoon.
The whole thing was very stressful, this was an excursion that I was so looking forward to. We couldn’t even reschedule because we were leaving to go home the next morning at 1030am.

This was the best private taxi experience! I highly recommend using this company. Our driver Andre was friendly, polite, engaging, and a pleasure to spend time with. My elderly mother with a mobility issue was treated with respect and care. The van was immaculate, comfortable, and modern. A great ride. We will use this company again and again!

We used road travel Jamaica for our trip to the bird sanctuary , our driver was Lorenzo , he couldn't have been any nicer , friendly . Picked up at our hotel and drove us to the Rocklands bird sanctuary , pointing out odd places on the way , chatted away like we knew him . He stayed with us all the time we were there and on the way back , he was still chatting away again pointing out certain areas and was happy to stop anywhere we wanted before dropping us of at our hotel. I would highly recommend Road Travel Jamaica , and highly recommend visiting Rocklands bird Sanctuary , feeding the humming birds was an amazing experience.
