Experience the Land of Trolls with our 6 hour sightseeing tour to Trollstigen.

The bus will take you from Ålesund, through charming norwegian villages to the Land of Trolls. First stop will be at Kokarsteinen placed just above the fiord. We will pass by Sjoholt village known for the furniture and wood industry and Valldal – famous for tasty strawberries.
Next stop will be at Gubrandsjuvet. It’s a 5 meters narrow and 20 – 25 meters high ravine where can take a bridge and walk over it. After that, the bus will drive you to the Trollstigen so you can enjoy the majestic view of natural landscape and fantastic mountain road with eleven hairpin turns. While driving down the road, we will take an extra photo stop at Stigefossen – the powerful waterfall with a total height of 240 meters. Last stop will be at Trollvegen (Troll Wall) which is Europe’s tallest vertical rock face. From here the bus will drive you through Åndalsnes back to Ålesund.

The Triollstigen was amazing. Beautiful scenery. Very Good guide. We loved the stop at the Gudbrandsjuvet gorge.

Safety: the driver was careful and skilled.
Entertaining: Kristina was intelligent (her vocabulary was amazing, and for speaking five or six languages, very impressive), cheerful and provided pertinent facts and stories. Excellent job.
Sites: Easily one of the required visits of the world, to see the road, sod-roofed houses, raging rivers, steep waterfalls, twisty road, and of course, the trolls.
Highly recommended.

One tip: when we exited our cruise ship, there is an orange building on our left. One must walk about 100 yards past that, over the bridge to a rusted orange building to get on the bus. Their instructions weren't clear.

The experience with the tour operator was disappointing and if I could rate zero star, I would do so.

We read in the news the day before the tour that the hairpin road towards Trollstigen has been experiencing rock falls and has been closed. We tried reaching out to the tour operator through Viator messaging, Whatsapp and phone call to ascertain if the tour was still on, but without success.

The lack of prompt and clear communication from the tour operator the day before the activity was distressing, especially if safety was potentially at stake, in light of what we were hearing in the news.

The next morning, when we reached for the tour, the bus departure was delayed by 15 minutes. Subsequently, we were told upon boarding the bus that the road is "unfortunately" closed. While the road closure was understandable and reasonable, however as a result, we could not do the (1) scenic drive along the Trollstigen hairpins, (2) Stigefossen waterfall, and (3) the Trollveggen. We booked this tour only for doing these specific activities, which could not be done. This should constitute a ground for full refund.

The lack of communication with and from the tour operator continues till date, as our request for a refund on the tour has not been entertained and we have not heard back from them.

I understand from news reports that the Trollstigen road will continue to remain closed for the remainder of this year. I strongly advise against booking this tour with the tour operator Excursions.no, as the experience will be disappointing and the tour operator customer service is unreachable at all times.

Zero star.

Kane was an amazing guide and told us lots of interesting Norwegian and troll history. Once you’re T the top. Make sure to make your way down to the down view point to see all the bends in the road. And the first top had the most beautiful views. We would definitely recommend it for people that love nature, and can walk around

Our ship arrived about a half hour late in port. I could see the tour bus from the ship so it must have been evident to the driver when we arrived. By the time we got off and crossed the parking lots the bus had left. There were at least 4 couples in the same situation. None of us received a call or text prior to the bus departing. We contacted the tour provider and they basically said too bad, nothing they could do.
Viator has agreed to refund our money which is appreciated, and will maintain my confidence in working with them in the future.

We got lucky as we were there the first day the troll road reopened due to the rockslide. The view overlooking the road, driving the winding path and the troll wall were the highlights for sure - can’t imagine this tour without them!

This was a nice trip but expect long bus ride on both ends. The views were amazing but would have liked more time at the one stop to be able to walk the entire path and see the troll road from different views.

It took us a little while to find the tour bus as it was parked where the ship excursions were boarding. NCL would not let us go through that exit since we did not book through the ship. We had beautiful weather on the day of our excursion so it was a nice drive through the countryside to get to the waterfall. Our tour guide was fantastic and we learned so much about Norway. There is a little bit of a hike to the viewing platform at Trollstigen so unfortunately my husband was unable to walk out there. We did not get to drive on the road or see the Trollwall due to a rock slide.
