Amazing scenery you can only get from boat and jaunting carts--combination worked great for us and we would highly recommend this!

Even though it was pouring down with rain we had a great experience I woulnd‘t have liked to miss out on! Transport worked out perfectly, our Jaunting Cart driver had a lot of humour and the landscape was great even with the rain! The skipper of the boat was very experienced. We were soaked at the end of the day, but we had great fun!

We wanted to do the full Gap of Dunloe, which was complicated to figure out without booking transportation. The jaunting car was a comfortable ride with amazing views. Plenty of time to explore around Lord Brandon's cottage before the boat ride back. Make sure to do this on a day with good weather - otherwise you'll be very sad.

Though it was pouring down with rain on that day, we had a fabulous time! The transport worked out perfectly and the people organising the Jaunting Cars did a good job in finding four people to do the ride together. The guy driving our Jaunting car had a lot of humour and we had a great time! But also the ones of our group who had decided to walk the little road of the gap of Dunloe arrived without stress in time for the boat ride. Also the boat ride, though still awfully wet from above, offered great views and showed the good skills of our boat driver. Alltogether a great experience - glad we didn’t miss out on that!!!!

We were picked up at our hotel and taken to the Castle for our boat ride. We had picked up several other people so it had been a while since we had had a chance to us the toilet. We had to ask and they did give us a chance to use the facilities after we asked, but there was some hesitation on the boat mans part. WE would have had time but there was a lot of confusion about picking people up at their hotels so we got to the boats late.
The boat ride went fine. Nice scenery.
The Jaunting Cart ride was a different story. The carts hold a max of 4 people according to the ride description. So usually the driver walks along or rides standing in the back. Our cart had 4 people and our driver was a rather ample lady. Very nice but most of the time she rode in the cart with us. Which meant 3 of us were crammed into the seat on one side. I was in the middle and could not ever turn to see the scenery. If the driver is going to ride then there should only be 3 customers in the cart.
Then it started raining. The only cover they had was a stiff tarp that we tried to pull over our legs. We did have our rain coats on but still when we had to get out and walk the seats got wet then we had to sit on the wet seats. Over all it was a rough ride and we ended up cold and wet. If I had been smart I would have brought my rain coat, rain pants and poncho even though rain was not predicted.

A truly unique experience. The jaunting cart through the Gap was brilliant, full of breathtaking scenery. The boat ride through several lakes was breathtaking too providing access to views which otherwise could not be accessed. Fabulous

Highly recommend this tour! They picked us up at our hotel and dropped us back off there as well…..so convenient!! We were lucky to have absolutely beautiful weather for the entire day! Bring cash for lunch at Lord Brandon’s Cottage and a pint at Kate’s at the end of the tour. Also, be advised there are portions of the each tour that requires some walking…boat tour-low water levels…the Gap tour—helping out the horses-jaunting cart. We enjoyed this to stretch our legs but just good to know when booking. Just a wonderful tour of the lakes and the Gap of Dunloe.

Beautiful excursion! When there was a mix up, they resolved VERY quickly. We did this excursion 18 years ago and wanted to do it again when we brought our kids back this time

This was a really fun excursion! From the meeting point, you are bussed out to where the jaunting carts congregate. The drivers are very organized, four people to a jaunting cart (cash only), so our party of two was paired with another couple.Liam and his dad were great guides; very entertaining:). Be warned that there is a portion of the ride where everyone gets out and walks up a couple of steep hills. I had a walking boot on at the time, so was able to stay in the cart, which made this a pretty good activity to get out and see a lot of things even with limited mobility. There is a nice restaurant (cash only) where are you take a break for a while before the boats take off back to Killarney. The boats are small, open boats, and you go across the lakes until you get back to town. Very scenic!

What a wonderful day! The boat ride was beautiful. Scenery you won’t see from the road. Then the Jaunting Cart! Our driver was local and so fun to chat with. You can’t beat the views from a wide open cart. Lived it!
