This is undoubtedly one of the best combinations of tourist attractions near Bogotá; The day begins with a visit to the Guatavita Lagoon, famous for being the place where the Muiscas performed the ritual that gave rise to the legend of El Dorado; This place has an overwhelming beauty that can only be understood by visiting it. Then, we cross the savannah to reach the municipality of Zipaquirá; You will know the First Wonder of Colombia, the Salt Cathedral, one of those places that you do not want to miss when you come to Colombia.
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing for the hike up to the Guatavita lagoon, which includes 152 steps.

Fantastic tour. Sebastian was a wonderful guide. If you are able to leave Bogota to check things out, don't miss this tour. It's an all day affair, wear good shoes and dress comfortable. You'll go from hot to wet to cold and hot again, but hey, that's Bogota. The ride was very comfortable and you can leave your things in the van.
Zipaquira and Guatavita are wonderful sites.
Guatavita has a hike, so be ready, but the view from the top looking across the Colombian countryside is amazing. The natural beauty is something you don't want to miss.
Lunch in Zipaquira was so delicious! We ate too much!
The Salt Cathedral was breathtaking. Amazing to witness this natural and manmade wonder.

This is a long day but totally worth it. The trip through the mountain towns is very scenic. Be warned that there is a bit of a hike to get to the lake, so wear good shoes and bring some rain gear. You'll learn a lot about the history and culture. The salt cathedral is very impressive.

Carmelo and Casilo were wonderful. Both were helpful in making sure we had the best experience possible. They made sure to be inclusive and explain what we were seeing. Also made sure we were taken care of at the stops along the way.

Great way to spend the day out if the hustle of Bogota. Our guide Camilo and driver took great care of us and dispite the fact that Camilo is quite young he was great and full of knowledge.

We really enjoyed this trip, we highly recommend this. It has been few months since our trip but we still remember that Sergio our guide who is very passionate about his culture. I find this very important especially with the younger generation. He was very protective of us, ensured our safety at all times and is very polite & knowledgeable.
