The show, music, entertainment was wonderful. However, seating needs improvement, as the stage is at the bottom and seats are not in an ample incline to see the show directly without blocked by people seated in the front rows.

I learned more about Vietnamese history and culture in an hour at this theatre than in a week at other attractions - and it was entertaining.
Things I had seen around Hanoi that seemed odd suddenly made sense: why is there a gold plated turtle in the One Pillar Pagoda? Why is the lake called Restored Sword Lake? It all makes sense now.
If you aren't fluent in Vietnamese, get the audio guide - it is really well put together and provides a translation of each item automatically as the show plays.

Poor rating due to lack of information as to how to skip the line. We had to make a call to find out where to get our tickets. Then when we got our tickets, they weren’t the VIP ones we paid for.
Had to call to organise a refund.

The show was great but the audience behaviour was very poor.

A nice way to spend time away from the hussle and bustle of Hanoi and enjoy the cultural art show of the water puppet theatre. Queues can be long so having the tickets pre-booked was a good help and we had great seats in the centre of the row. A show for everyone.

I was browsing online and saw all tickets selling online, even one on the theatre’s website are similar price. I thought it was a normal price but no. Buying online is more than double the price if you buy at the place (see photo). When I asked the lady working there why such high price for online ticket, she said it’s because of service fee…which is basically saving you some time in lining up at the ticket booth to buy ticket :( there was a huge line lining up to buy ticket but not worth that price. If you can, buy ticket as early as possible cos it tends to sold out pretty quick during the day. Also we were put in a worst location on row D, at the edge and couldn’t see half of the show.
Lesson learned:
- book ticket in person as early as possible
- pick seat in the center of the row

I didn't have time to see this show or the mausolem. The show is available throughout Vietnam. The mausolem is not. Disappointing. Cute for younger audiences.

Loved this little show! Such a difference experience and very memorable.
Highly recommend!
I paid a bit more for one of the VIP seats and it was worth it, but the theatre is set in a way where everyone can see.

It’s twice as much with the fee. Purchase the ticket in person at the box office for 100k vnd vs paying $10 online. You still have to wait in line with the ticket from viator. As far as the show it’s pretty good, but don’t expect too much.

We Buy this ticket as vip seats. but they say ticket is sold out and we take a standard ticket. they say rest of fee is refundable. but i can't still get refund. when the refund fee is back?

Puppet show is FANTASTIC and a must see.
Skip the line and buy tickets through Expedia, whilst a tad more expensive saves a great deal of time fighting the lines to buy tickets, it was no fuss, well organised with clear instructions and when I got to the venue my tix were waiting with one of the attendees and it was a breeze to get into our seats which were in the 3rd row! Def worth the money.
