Great day. Jean made the trip fun and informative for everyone. Water jumps were definitely the most fun.

This was my second trip with Across Caribe tour. My first was 6 years ago, and when we scheduled our trip for PR, I knew I wanted to use Across Caribe for another rainforest tour. We went to a different part of the rainforest. When we travel, we love to immerse ourselves in the local culture. Sayed was a wonderful guide and showed us unique parts of the island.
Our tour was probably the last before the shut down and we felt very safe on our tour.
I highly recommend this trip. Bring waterproof shoes that stay on well. The hike was very muddy. I also recommend bringing a change of clothes after swimming.
Enjoy!

Wonderful tour, wonderful guide. We were delayed in traffic arriving at the pick-up point, but were accommodated graciously when we called the office from our traffic jam. The guide kept up a non-stop description and explanation of all things relating to Puerto Rico history, culture, and environment. The hike was relatively easy with a few challenging spots, managed with a helpful hand by our thoughtful guide Rafael Alejandro. We all had a lovely time relaxing at the river and enjoyed an authentic Puerto Rican lunch at the end.

Our guide was Jean. Highly energetic and very passionate about plants, we learned a ton about the history on certain plants and their uses while hiking between rope swings and waterfalls. The trip itself was fantastic but if you are not athletic I would stay in town. You have to scale 3 ft high root sections / use a rope to climb up the side of a rock / and overall my entire body hurts after the trip. Beyond that this trip really gives you the Puerto Rico experience. Beautiful rainforest. Beautiful water. Rope swings and natural water slides are the best time you’ve had since you were a kid.

Our guide was Rafael who was absolutely excellent - personable, knowledgable and fun. There were only three of us, so it felt like an intimate experience with someone who was passionate about the island, culture and nature. It was one of the highlights of our time in Puerto Rico. The fairly short rainforest track was very muddy but we could wash everything off afterwards. It will ruin your shoes unless they are 'water shoes', so either take a spare pair of wet shoes for the swimming/jumping part or use wear proper wet/dry shoes. Overall a great day and highly recommended.

Three of us did the "Off the Beaten Track" El Yunque Rainforest Hike with Carlos on Friday, July 5th, 2019. It was a last-minute decision but one that we certainly didn't regret. Carlos was amazing! Given that it was a holiday weekend, it was still crowded but it was nice to be in such a small group with our guide. He was laidback but informative, as well as very responsive and caring to our small trio of hikers. I would recommend this tour, and Carlos in particular, to anyone and everyone!!!

I originally booked for a Monday, and they contacted me and told me I was the only person who had booked that day, so I had to choose another day. I reshuffled my entire trip and changed other reservations so I could move this to Friday. On Friday, after waiting outside for 40 minutes, the van showed up and was too full to fit me. They offered no alternative solutions. This is my last day, and too late to book another trip, so I won't be able to go to the rainforest. This was my birthday trip and the thing I was looking forward to most. I even lugged around heavy hiking boots in my luggage just for this. I would give it negative stars if I could. DO NOT BOOK.

We went on a tour with Across Caribe and their tour guide Carlos - everything was very well organized, transfer arrived on time to our Airbnb and the communication was very easy. The tour itself was very interesting, we learned a lot about Puerto Rico in general and about the rain forest and its plants in particular. The tour takes you to a part of El yunque that's not open to all of the tour buses so there was significantly less people, which was a plus. We went for a swim in the lake, the water was very clean and refreshing. Overall highly recommend to try this activity with Across Caribe - you won't regret it.

Our guide was 40 minutes late to meet us. While we were waiting, someone from the company keep calling and telling us to drive up the road and get a smoothie at a fruit stand. Ummm, no, I paid for a rainforest tour, not a smoothie.

The day before our tour the company sent a text saying we would need to pay cash to park ($10) and enter ($2/person). What did I prepay for?

Once there, our guide was very nice. He helped our children climb and jump off rocks a lot. That’s important and one thing I really appreciated. Otherwise, our guide didn’t tell us anything about the forest. No animals, insects or plants to speak of. The river and rocks were cool but where we live in PA, we have creeks and waterfalls so this wasn’t extra.

We were there the week before Easter so the river was packed with other groups. It definitely was NOT off the beaten path. Other guides were letting not so fit people scale up wet rock walls with out any protection so that worried me; not so peaceful.

I want to be supportive since the economy in PR needs help after Maria. I feel bad making a comment that might influence travelers against this tour, but I also want people to be safe and get what they pay for.

It was literally a scene out of The Jungle Book! Amazing waterfalls. Beautiful! Bring your running shoes and prepare to get wet.
