First of all, we wholeheartedly would recommend Gboo Morocco Tours. Our driver Aissam was nothing short of amazing and really a pleasure to have as a travel companion during our journey. Nine days is a long time to spend in closer quarters(driving) with a person and it really felt like we were all in sync with each other after a couple of days. This tour is a wonderful mix of all that is Morocco and I do feel that we left this amazing country with a greater knowledge of it. We had private guides in both Fez and Marrakech and we really learned so much about both the city and beyond from them.

One of things I think is important to note, there is A LOT of driving involved with this trip. I wouldn't say some day's itineraries are unrealistic, but I would say if you want to have down time in the hotel, time exploring the towns(particularly Chefchaouen, Fez or Marrakech)or dinner plans....Make this known and plan ahead of time. I would also add the trip from Dades Valley to Marrakech is VERY long with a lot of stops and you will arrive in Marrakech quite late. This is by no means a complaint...the drive is really spectacular...just a heads up!

If taking a summer tour, an additional recommendation I would make in regard to Sahara Desert accommodations. It is very, very hot in the summer and there are camps that have AC in the tents. The camp we stayed at did not. Additionally, it was so hot there wasn't cold or even tepid water...it was either hot shower or unbearably hot. I would be very clear about your needs on this particular accommodation. We slept outside, as our tent was nothing short of Sauna temperature, which wasn't terrible but wasn't a restful night sleep. We were the only guests at this lovely camp and they really went out of their way to make us happy. However, we were just too hot to enjoy anything.

The last thing I would add is with the Riads chosen, this is a really personal comfort level in the areas they are located within the Medina. In Fez, we didn't have a problem with the location, but would not recommend the Riad we stayed at(however beautiful)there.   We had hiccups with our rooms accommodations in Marrakech(this was not Gboo fault), but even beforehand we had a bit of an issue with the location which was deep in the Medina and located in at the end of a very dark(no light until the end), very long side alley...not to mention it was a very, very long walk to the Riad.  If Aissam hadn't walked us back to the Riad at night after dinner, we would not have felt comfortable AT ALL.  And if I am honest, there were times he looked very uncomfortable particularly with parking. Again this is a personal comfort level and everyone's level is different.  I have very little tolerance, however my husband has a much, much higher level and he was rushing us through with a NO STOPPING(for cats) policy.

I would also add that final  approval was given by me for all the accommodations, but not knowing the area is a real handicap.  So, be very specific about this...also if you need fewer stairs/lower levels.  I have an autoimmune disease, so I don't need a handicap room, but walking up three flights of sometimes narrow and almost always unevenly spaced stairs is not ideal.  This was also my fault as it didn't really occur to me to ask.

We are so grateful to Gboo Morocco Tours and Aissam for making this trip Truly Amazing!    Re-Reading, I sincerely hope the take-away isn't taken negatively. It was Fantastic!  These are just recommendations of making it even better than it was.  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out....I really feel they offered an authentic picture of all that is Morocco with our needs and timeline.

It was a very interesting experience for the both of us, my wife and I.
Abdelhadi was always very prompt on his responses to our queries before our trip and regularly checked to find out if we're doing well and enjoying our trip along the way. Throughout our journey Rachid was our company; very punctual and friendly. His van was very well maintained and comfortable.
Guides were assigned to us as needed at places / cities where we could probably lose our way, hence we felt some autonomy to explore some parts of Morocco by ourselves.
Our accommodations in the different cities were very good - beautiful Riads with friendly staff at convenient locations, well equipped tent in the desert and a nice hotel.
