Enjoy nearly 5 hours of leisure time swimming and sunbathing by the sea. Visit the 2 most popular beaches of Greece, Falasarna and Elafonisi, in one day. Our trip starts from Elafonisi, the most breathtaking destination of the day. Swim in shallow turquoise waters, explore the fine pink sand and the exotic small lagoons, ideal for children.The tour goes on west to Falasarna, a white sandy beach famous for the clear turquoise blue sea, the locals' favourite beach. Our final stop, Vouves, is the place, where we visit the oldest olive tree in the world and a traditional olive oil factory . There we will have the opportunity to taste cretan olive oil!

1. Elafonissi Beach
Off the southwestern tip of Crete, about 75 kilometers from Chania town, lies Elafonisi beach and small island. It is within walking distance from the mainland, sometimes without even getting one’s toes wet. It was once used by pirates to hide their loot (lafyra) and that is how it got its name. The island (about 1.3 km long and 400 meters wide) is a protected nature reserve and boasts one of the finest sand beaches in the country. More than that, Elafonisi is the only Greek contender in a Tripadvisor list of the world’s 25 best beaches for 2014. This is to be expected: blindingly white-pink sand, turquoise-white lagoon-like waters that ripple as they pick up the breeze, an exotic place with sporadic vegetation against the stark bareness of the Cretan mountains. On the island discover numerous small coves, sandy beaches and interesting rock formations. It is also home to 110 plant species including the protected Androcymbium rechingeri, which is as rare as it sounds.

Falasarna beach is located in the western part of Crete, about 53 km from the town of Chania and 13 km from the town of Kissamos. Quite popular with day trippers, its stunning beaches and clear turquoise blue sea are unique. It has received many awards for its beauty, amenities and services enjoyed by the visitor. The long sandy beach is one of its most important advantages, as it offers the chance to the visitors to enjoy it, even in the high season period. Swimming in the crystal clear turquoise waters of the beach, will make anyone feel the ultimate pleasure. Its beach is fully organized with umbrellas and sun beds in its biggest part. However, there are several free spots for those who prefer to put their own umbrella and towel on the sand. What will impress you the most, is the charming and unique sunset, one of the most beautiful in Greece. The sunset there is really impressive, as there is nothing to obstruct your field of view between the beach and the horizon.
3. The Monumental Olive Tree of Vouves
The Olive tree of Vouves is probably one of the oldest olive trees in the world, which remains productive to this day. The exact age of the tree cannot be determined. While tree ring analysis demonstrated the tree to be at least 2000 years old, scientists from the University of Crete have estimated it to be 4000 years old. In 1997 it was declared a protected natural monument and, in October 2009, the Olive Tree Museum of Vouves was inaugurated in a nearby 19th-century house, displaying traditional tools used in the process of olive cultivation. As of the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, olive branches “kotinos” from this ancient olive tree were used for the wreath of Marathon winners in every Olympic game. Every year over 20,000 people from all over the world visit this ancient tree.

Christina and Thanasi were wonderful tour guides. Very accommodating and knowledgeable. They always went the extra mile to ensure our tour was perfect! Extra quick stops at the olive oil factory and Samari Gorge were a nice surprise! Must request these two tour guides. Amazing!! Beaches are beautiful!

Christine and our driver were incredible guides. They made us feel very at ease and were filled with exactly the right amount of history and flexibility and fun and adventure and the sites they showed us were absolutely beautiful. Would highly recommend this with no hesitations for just about anybody.

This was an amazing experience. Top notch from booking to finish. Christine and our driver were wonderful. Professional, warm, knowledgeable, flexible, organized and a true pleasure to spend the day with. They used some photos and videos to share history and signpost our day. The beaches were beautiful and it was a treat to visit the oldest olive tree in Greece. We highly recommend this tour - literally don’t think it could’ve been better.

Christine and Thanassis were wonderful guides and hosts. Besides seeing incredible sites we all enjoyed sampling Cretan dishes at 2 Tavernas. The explanations about the places we visited were interesting and easy to understand. The videos on the van provided context before we arrived at the destinations. I highly recommend touring with SeaByBus

Our private day trip to the Chania beaches and Vouves with SeaByBus was truly a highlight of our Greece trip. Christine was a wonderful host and Thanasis was a great driver. It was the actually one of the most informative tours of our trip…and also the most fun. We learned so much about Greek history, the landscape, mythology, food, culture/lifestyle, and even a little of the language. Christine and Thanasis were both were incredibly knowledgeable, fun, friendly, and excellent photographers.

The van is well appointed with air conditioning, a video screen, phone charging capability and a cooler with beverages.

Christine and Thanasis had us to the beaches before the larger crowds started to show up, and that was much appreciated. They also offered us a delicious Greek lunch box, towels, umbrellas etc, and helped us rent a daybed. They made sure we had everything we needed to go relax and enjoy our time. They were also very flexible with timing, allowing us to adjust the time spent at locations, depending on our preferences.

The beaches themselves were absolutely stunning, with crystal clear Mediterranean water, and scenic mountain back drops. The Falasarna beach had excellent food and cocktails.

Vouves was also a fun stop with history, delicious olive oils, snacks, and frappes.

We would highly recommend SeaByBus to anyone and we would love to do another excursion with them in the future.

This tour was absolutely a first-class trip and went beyond my expectations. I can't speak highly enough about this company and the staff I met. The attention to detail was superb and probably one of the best trips I have ever taken.

The tour started on time. Our guide, Christine, had sent a google map link of the pickup point in advance. Our driver, Thanasis kept us safe driving on the freeway and on the smaller tight mountainous roads. At no time did I feel scared scaling up the mountain. He observed speed limits and was careful throughout the day. The vehicle was clean and in excellent condition. Both driver and guide were so friendly and welcoming.

In the description the tour advertises it is all inclusive and it truly was. Upon arriving at the beach, each person was given a full lunch of traditional Greek foods in a small carry cooler. The lunch included tasty sandwiches and traditional Greek pies. Beverages are provided as well and the selection of drinks included water, sodas and beers. A small separator is in the cooler, so the weight of the beverage does not smash the food. A tiny detail, but a very clever one. In addition to the lunch, beach umbrellas and mats are offered so as not to have to incur additional costs of renting beach chairs and umbrellas. Cold beverages were served throughout the trip.

After hitting both beaches there is a lovely olive museum stop where the oldest olive tree is located. Christine offers a guided tour at the museum. After the tour, there is an opportunity to have Greek coffee or tea and olives and snacks. There is plenty of food offered so no one goes hungry. We even had a couple of photo stops at a gorge and a small church along the route.

Near the end of the trip, Christine offered a gift of Crete olive oil for all of us to take back home. What a lovely surprise. I could definitely see the pride of being Cretan and sharing a piece of their traditions.

This trip is worth every penny spent. The attention to detail was over the top. Christine was lovely. She provides information on culture, food and history of Crete throughout the tour. She is a wonderful Ambassador for Crete!

Great communication before and during the tour. Our guide Calliope was very kind and gave us plenty of information about the island and the places we were visiting. Everything was as advertised. The tour left and returned on time, and we had plenty of time at each stop to relax and enjoy ourselves. the tour bus was comfortable and we were very grateful for the air conditioning as well as the careful way our driver navigated the narrow mountain roads.

Christine and Thanasis were outstanding hosts. It was of their upmost importance to make our tour memorable. It was an incredible day and such value for the money. We never felt rushed, and had ample time to enjoy both phenomenal beaches and the oldest olive tree in the world. The whole day was one I will never forget. Thank you very much to both of you! We had a wonderful time with Christine and the driver. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. We did several tours throughout multiple islands in Greece, this was by far our favorite experience and give our highest recommendation.
