The ‘Starfish’, the popular ferry boat which takes passengers from Benalmadena Marina back and forth to Fuengirola
Many have taken this trip and highly recommend it. Why? Well here are just a few reasons:
- The Views: Your trip aboard ‘Starfish’ will allow you to enjoy spectacular views of the whole coastline. Camera in hand, you’ll grab some fabulous shots of local landmarks and attractions.
- A visit to Fuengirola: Our neighbouring town enjoys a beautiful promenade and beaches, making it ideal for a leisurely stroll. If you chose to visit on Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday, you can visit the large and busy markets filled with local products and plenty of souvenirs for an ideal gift for that special someone.
3) You might see dolphins! We say ‘might’ because it’s a mere possibility; however, there are pods of dolphins in the waters off Benalmádena.
If you’ve been thinking about visiting Fuengirola, forget about taking the bus and travel in style aboard ‘Starfish’.

The ferry journey itself was lovely, staff friendly and helpful and we were lucky that the seas were calm. However wasn't impressed with Fuengirola and 2 hours is more than enough time spent there.

Took the one hour sea trip from feungirola to benalmadena return. Ferry runs to time and has a good coastal view. Nice way to get to and from these resorts. To and from both marinas. Note cash only. Get tickets from the marina office.

Loved the ferry but..seemed to pay twice as much by booking with Tripadvisor..much cheaper there.
Won't make that mistake again..

Very friendly helpful staff. Got me on in the wheelchair without any trouble.Felt safe and enjoyed the trip just enough time in Fuengirola

Best Boat trip from Benalmadena marina. 95% success rate to see dolphins and didn't disappoint. We saw about 20! Nice big boat, plenty of room,bar on board. Loved it. Highly recommend

I loved this ferry trip. I travelled from Benalmádena to Fuengirola and caught a return sailing a few hours later.
The boat was really clean and looked well maintained. All the crew were terrific and gave assistance to people in wheelchairs and people with prams when boarding.
As it was November and quite windy, staff handed out blankets to anyone feeling a bit chilly, which was great too.
Even though it was windy, the Catamaran was really stable and a pleasant experience from start to finish.
It's a beautiful stretch of coastline that you follow for an hour in each direction so there's plenty to look at along the way and on the return journey the Captain announced that there were dolphins approaching us. We had an amazing view as around twelve dolphins swam past us just a few metres away. It was a real highlight for everyone.
The next time I'm in Benalmádena I will definitely be booking a trip on this ferry again and would highly recommend it to others

Trip was well worth doing & a real bonus on the return sailing was getting close to a large pod of dolphins, an amazing experience

Bought return tickets online - good price for return trip from Fuengirola to benalmadena. Return times have enough time to potter round and have something to eat and drink and shopping either route. Staff all polite and friendly. A nice way to travel between destinations - plenty of seating available. Worth doing, would recommend. Didn’t like the photographer taking photos and trying to sell them after he had printed them out - although no pressure to buy really.

Great fun out and back able to have a hot/cold drink. Photos available great memories. Bonus saw Dolphins out and back. Well worth it.
