Chado, a tea ceremony that has roots in Zen, was established in Japan more than 400 years ago. Its fundamental form and style has never changed, and there are still many people studying and enjoying the culture worldwide. A
Tea room is a space in which people experience mindfulness, and the tea-making process provides spiritual discipline.
This is a chado school licensed from Urasenke Chado School in Kyoto, one of the biggest chado schools in the world. Ms. Mika Soka Haneishi, the owner of the school is a first degree instructor of Urasenke. She has been practicing Chado for over 25 years.
This is not tourism—it is rather an immersion in culture.

Was looking for something for family with older kids about Japanese culture and found this which was perfect. We all found it interesting, including teenagers.

The tea ceremony was my last program in Japan before returning home. It was a very nice finish to my 10 day stay. The workshop is absolutely worth it.

Fascinating! Learning about Japanese Tea Ceremony and being a part of one was both fun, interesting, historical…I nearly floated out the door on serenity.

Great experience which included a display of a tea ceremony, an explanation on different green tea and match types, two types of matcha tea and some sweets. We got to prepare our own matcha tea
