All of our private tours are led by a professional wildlife biologist. We will tour the park in a modern chevy suburban. Our goal is to view the most wildlife possible on your tour while also visiting the most ICONIC destinations in there park as well visiting many hidden locations that are off the beaten path. During our day we will see Old Faithful, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Yellowstone Falls (308'), lots of wildlife, large waterfalls, seldom seen geysers, and two historic hotels. We will provide high end binoculars and spotting scopes for the entire group so we can view animals or geysers that are far off the road! This will be an educational experience for your family/ group yet fun and entraining at the same time. Your tour will experience the wonders of hidden Yellowstone that's awaiting around each corner of Yellowstone National Park.

For lunch we will stop for an incredibly scenic picnic style lunch along the shore of Yellowstone Lake!

The Classic Yellowstone Tour features Yellowstone’s most popular stops and highlights including Old Faithful, The Grand Prismatic Hot Spring (by request only), rare wildlife in the Hayden Valley, Yellowstone Falls, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Yellowstone Lake, as well as several other off the beaten path waterfalls, hot springs, geysers, rivers, and wildlife encounters along the way. You will also have time to rest and take in the historic Old Faithful Inn built in 1903.
2. Hayden Valley
One of the best wildlife viewing places in Yellowstone National Park. Therefore, one of the best places to see wildlife in the world! We will head to this area of the park first to maximize our odds at seeing black bears, wolves, bison, and grizzlies!!
3. Lower Yellowstone River Falls
At 308" tall these falls are 308 feet (94 m) high, or nearly twice as high as Niagara Falls. The volume of water flowing over Lower Yellowstone Falls can vary from 680 cu ft/s (19 m3/s) in the autumn, to 8,400 cu ft/s (240 m3/s) at peak runoff in late springtime.
4. Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is the most breathtaking sight inside Yellowstone National Park. Twenty miles long, the canyon is up to 4,000-feet wide and 1,200-feet deep in places. It's located on the eastern side of the park. From several vantage points, you can view Lower Falls plunging steeply into the canyon 308 feet, or the Upper Falls tumbling 109 feet.
5. Yellowstone Lake
Depending on the day we might: hike, walk, view historic architecture, or possibly have a very scenic lunch right along Yellowstone Lake (largest lake in North America above 7000'' of elevation/ 126 miles of shoreline) at one of our secret secluded lunch spots!

8. Upper Geyser Basin
We will access an area of the largest geyser basin in the park from an obscure entry point that few people know exist. In this area we will hike to multiple hot springs, geysers, and fumaroles that will get us into a place that's hidden in plain sight and few other tourist ever seem to find. This trail os often our clients favorite part of their tour. Over the years we have received tremendous feedback on this family friendly hike.

10. Grand Prismatic Spring
What Makes the Grand Prismatic so Grand? Grand Prismatic Spring, located in Midway Geyser Basin, has the distinction of being the park’s largest hot spring and third largest inn the world. It measures approximately 370 feet (112.8 m) in diameter and is over 121 feet (37 m) deep. A description of this spring by fur trapper Osborne Russell in 1839 also makes it the earliest described thermal feature in Yellowstone that is definitely identifiable
11. Fountain Paint Pot
Along this short walk you will see very good examples of most types of thermal features found in Yellowstone. These features include some extremely colorful hot springs,, steaming fumaroles, erupting geysers and the best mudpots in the park. The area is highly active and at least one geyser is erupting here at all times.
12. Firehole Lake Drive
Beautiful geysers and hot springs as well as the possibility of grazing bison!
13. Firehole Canyon Drive
Beautiful 40 foot waterfall at confluence of ancient rhyolite lava flows.

What an unbelievable experience. My entire family was thrilled with the day including 2 teenagers. We were picked up bright and early and they provided everything. Snacks, coffee, drinks, lunch, binoculars, everything. We saw wildlife and all the main sights on the southern loop. They even catered the trip to us since we were staying at Old Faithful inn. We were able to spend time at other spots that we would never have stopped at on our own. No stress finding parking or planning the day. The best money we have ever spent and a fantastic tour guide too.

Fantastic tour. Our guide, Jessi, was great. We modified the standard itinerary a bit & saw lots of wildlife - grizzly bear, black bear & cubs, wolves, bison. Great hike & views on the Canyon trail

We LOVED our guided tour of the Lower Rim of Yellowstone. We started at 5:30 a.m. because that gave us a chance to see the most animals. Our guide Mitchell was very knowledgeable, nice, and accommodating. We were traveling with our four children ranging in age from 5-13 and he was great with all of them. We went on some walks, saw Eagles, Bison, Coyotes, ground squirrels, a grey wolf, and more. We also got to watch Old Faithful erupt and then go see some other geothermal spots around the park. The picnic provided was delicious and Mitchell made sure we also had lots of snacks. He even brought instant hot chocolate from his own home when he found out we had smaller kids and that it would be cold that morning. I know it was from his own home because we ran into another guide from his company and that guide was like “where do we keep the hot chocolate, I should probably grab some for my tours” and Mitchell said “we don’t stock it, but I brought this from home for the kids!” You cannot beat that kind of consideration. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Our trip could not have been better.

Mitchell was professional and respectful and yet personable and easily engaging. He was so well prepared in that he studies the history, geology, botany, wildlife, and native culture of Yellowstone.

As prepared as Mitchell was and as much as he has his favorite places in Yellowstone, he listened to our desires and then planned a trip using all the above that was perfect for us.

He could not guarantee that we would see a grizzly, but with the Yellowstone Adventure Network and his understanding of the bears habitations and habits he delivered sightings, pictures, and videos of a giant male that I am sure no one else in the park saw that day!

Beside, that he taught us so much, showed us so many animals and birds (which was our goal) and was a total joy to be around!

The Yellowstone Adventure also gets a 5-Star review. Their vehicles are roomy and luxurious. The technology they provided brought the animals right into our lap (and into our living room later to share with others). The snacks and water and drinks were plenteous and wonderful. The lunch was wonderful (even accommodating my vegetarian partner) and the place we ate was so beautiful we would have been happy eating gruel.

It is expensive, but there is not a thing that we were missing. It was a moment in our life that we had huge expectations for (which were exceeded) and we will remember and treasure for the rest of our lives!

Derek was the best! He knew all the hacks to find the best bathrooms, avoid crowds, and spot wildlife.

He had two high-powered telescopes which made it possible for us to find mountain goats, grizzly and her cub, and a black wolf. We saw different herds of bison. Saw all the highlights of Yellowstone and even went to secret spots that were secluded.

The suburban was comfortable me had plenty of space.

It would’ve taken us days to cover what he covered in 1 day.

He also taught us so much about geothermal features of this beautiful park!

He’s also an excellent photographer and took great pictures of my family and me—-an added bonus!

A wonderful experience. We got to see and learn things we wouldn’t have been able to on our own. Our guide, Jessie, was very knowledgeable and had a pleasant personality. She knew where to go to see the most animals and was efficient in getting us there. If parking was tight, she’d let us off and catch up when she could. The spotting scopes and binoculars were high quality and the videos she took & shared from the scopes are fantastic! A perfect day and worth every penny. When we come back, we will do this again!

I reserved this for my (3) sons and their families. They all came back raving about how knowledgeable Derek and Steve were. Had the best time and the kids were so excited about seeing the wolves, bison and even saw a grizzly in the distance.

I can't believe we have never before taken a private tour. We all had the best time and our guide, Jessi, was just wonderful. Along with the usual bison, deer and elk, we saw black bears, a grizzly and her cub, and marmots. We were also lucky enough to observe a black wolf with pups which we never would have seen had Jessi not had spotting scopes. She even turned around on our drive back to our rental so we could get a better look at the big horn sheep. We also went on a couple of short hikes with some fantastic scenery. The lunch, snacks, and drinks provided were very good. Thank you, Jessi!

Yellowstone Adventure Tours was great! Constant communication and quick replies. Once on the tour our guide, Mitchell, was great! The kids loved him. We appreciated his expertise and flexibility with our young family. We would definitely recommend Yellowstone Adventure Tours and Mitchell! The Upper and Lower Tours were well worth it.
