Experience the beauty of Amboseli National Park in this overnight safari. Amboseli is set on the Kenyan plains with Mt Kilimanjaro as a backdrop in the distance, the park is world-famous for its substantial population of African Elephants which can be seen in herds of over 100 individuals. In particular the large bull elephants have some of the largest tusks in the animal kingdom. Also to be spotted are ample herds of buffalo, wildebeest, zebra and impala, as well as giraffes and warthog. With all this variety you can be sure a healthy population of predators also call Amboseli home. Lions, leopards, caracals, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas and serval cats are all frequently seen in the park.

Such a great experience. We really enjoyed the overnight 2 day safari tour to Amboseli Nationalpark with Edwin nyakundi. He was such a great guide: he drove us safely the whole distance, stopped in the park for us, when animals were visible and gave us interesting information about everything. It was such a great experience and Edwin was a big part of it. He always tried to communicate with other guides, to get information about sightings. The stay at the lodge and the lunch at the other lunch on the second day were really nice.

The only thing, we can complain about, was, that Edwin had different rooms/lunch/dinner than we had. We would have loved to eat together and it felt a little discriminatory to us. So maybe it would be possible to change this, so the guides, that are doing such a great job, could stay together with the tourists.

Our tour to the Amboseli national Park was truly an outstanding experience. My daughter and I took this tour as an extension to a previous tour to other parks. What was special about a Amboseli was the opportunity to view Mount Kilimanjaro on two different days. Another exceptional, part of the trip was a rare opportunity to stay at Camp Kili, staying in rustic cabins and run by an incredible Massi family. Benjamin and his family were truly outstanding hosts during our overnight stay. His brother also was a fabulous chef. We really enjoyed eating outside and then in the evening sitting around the campfire. During our lunch meal, we had monkeys in the trees! Such incredibly gracious people. The other outstanding part of the trip was our guide Samuel with whom we are still in contact with. We saw amazing families of large elephants, hippos, right at the edge of our vehicle, and a huge number of exotic birds. We could not have been more pleased with our tour!

The safari was truly amazing, we saw many more animals than I expected (zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, hippos, warthogs, gazelles, baboons, buffalo, flamingos, tons of elephants, and more). Amboseli as well as the lodge we stayed at were wonderful and our guide, Black Santa, made it so much better with his humor and knowledge. I left an item in the car when he dropped us off and he drove all the way back to Westlands from Jomo Kenyatta Intl Airport and brought it to me at my hotel. I can’t recommend the experience or Black Santa enough!

We had the pleasure to go on a 2 days/1 night Safari accompanied by our guide Samy!
The drive to and from the park was smooth and quick, but best of all was his ability to bring us to the right place at the right time once in the park.
We managed to saw a ton of game from very close and snapped some beautiful pictures. But most importantly, we made good memories!
Samy also managed to sort out a minor inconvenient to our vehicle and we had a seamless experience as a result.
Highly recommended for couples or small groups, and if you can, as for Samy.

The tour went well, early pick up, driving to Amboseli et back the next day. A very knowledgeable guide during the park tour, especially on the different bird species. Little downside was the lack of air conditioning in the van, not for the park tour but the 8 hours drive from and to Nairobi. A bigger downside is the fact that I paid 200 USD more than the price advertised, and never heard back from Perfect Safari when I ask for an explanation. So I can't recommend booking with them.

This package came with two game drives. One at the afternoon and one the following morning.
At the first game drive, everything went well until the driver drove through a swamp and got the car stuck in the water middle of nowhere at the park filled with dangerous animals. No other cars were there as it was sunset time around 6:33 PM. This whole incident was traumatizing and scary as a solo female traveler, it was pitch dark outside and got water inside the vehicle up to my shin. (I have video footage recorded from the event). I did not know what to expect in a foreign country. I was told help would arrive in 20 minutes, but help did not arrive before 8:20 PM. They pulled the car out of the swam; however, our car was totally damaged and did not start. The whole way they pulled our car out with a role, and I did not get back to the lodge until almost 10PM.

Now I understand, unforeseen events may occur. What I have problem with is what happened next. They are scammers and just wanted to manipulate me as I am a solo female traveler.

My tour guide advised that the game drive for the following morning was still on. They told me to be ready by 6:30 AM. I was ready to go by 6:35 AM, my tour guide approached me and told me not to rush and to relax and have breakfast as I would be sent to the game drive at 8 AM with another vehicle. He also advised after 2 hours of game drive; we will head towards Nairobi by 10 – 10:30 AM to be at the airport by 3-4 PM. I agreed.

The new driver started driving and there was a couple in the same vehicle as me. 25+ minutes later, I noticed we weren’t still at the park (Park distance is about 10 minutes from the lodge) so I asked the driver if we are going to the park. He said “yes”. 50+ minutes in, he stops at a gas station, opens the door of my side and asks me to come outside the vehicle. He then tells me, if we go to the park now, I will be late for my flight. I asked what time you can get me to Nairobi if we do 2 hours of game drive. He says 2-3 PM. I advised that was okay since my flight was not until 7 PM. Then he changes what he said and says oh no it might be longer and that I will miss your flight. Then he kepts persisting me not to mention this to his manager as per him, he will get fired. He kept insisting on not mentioning this to anyone. He kept saying he needs this job, and put me in such an awkward situation. Later I found out, the couple in the car also was not aware of the game drive from 8-10 AM. They were told we were straight going to Nairobi.

He knew from the beginning that he wasn’t going to take me on a game drive. He took me far away from the park to tell me that. Not only that but the whole time he drove as slow as he could. Cars/big trucks everything kept passing us on, just to show me that I would be late. Nevertheless, even after driving intentionally slowly, I got to the airport 6 hours prior. (I have video of him driving slow intentionally as well)

I did not get what was advertised from this tour. Its very upsetting how they scam people. I tried reaching out to the manager named Elizabeth. She's seen my message but would not reply and Viator keeps rejecting my request for a partial refund. This was such a horrible experience, you would think Viator would try to make it right for you. Sadly, these reps from Viator does not care and they keep saying I received the second game drive (whatever lies the tour company told them).

Save yourself, don't buy this tour.

I am so glad I did this tour! I was afraid that I had too little time to get the most of it, but I am happy I did. Black Santa was amazing. Incrediblely knowledgeable and friendly with everyone. Made sure I wasn’t getting ripped off by locals but took me to all the local places so money goes to them and the Maasai tribes. I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

We had an awesome time on our 1 night/2 day trip to Amboseli NP. Our guide, Sammy, was very friendly and helpful. The wildlife at the park was amazing and AA Lodge was a very nice to stay at. We had lunch at the Ol Tukai Lodge on day 2 and that was the best meal we had during our 3 weeks in East Africa. Just be prepared for the dust in the park - we found a mask or neck gaiter to be handy to cover our nose/mouth and I used my camera's rain cover to protect it. We definitely recommend both this park and company.
