The first place to visit in the Bacalar Lagoon is “Cenote Esmeralda”, where you’ll be amazed by the different shades of blue and understand why the Bacalar Lagoon is frequently referred as the 7 colors lagoon. Our next stop is “Cenote Cocalitos”, home of stromatolites, that are known as living stones and are considered the oldest form of life in the planet.
The third point to enjoy will be “Black Cenote” which is an open sky cenote and also the deepest point of the lagoon.
The final spot to is the Pirate Channel, as you’ll be explained that day, pirates used to enter Bacalar by using this channel to steal local precious wood. You’ll also have a beautiful view of the different shades of blue of the Lagoon.

While a bit of a walk to get out of the cruise port to their pick-up point, the rest of the excursion was a wonderful experience. The excursion guide, Celena, was one of the best, most friendly and fun we have ever experienced. The pontoon boat ride, sandbar beach stop and lunch stop were also very nice.

Great experience! Took a second to get out of the port and find our way to meet up with the company. Once we found them, it was great. Our tour guide, Juan, was super friendly and shared a lot of history and fun information about the area. They provide water and snacks throughout the day. The tour itself was beautiful. Swimming in the lagoon felt amazing. The entire staff, Selina, Juan, and Tino, constantly was making sure we were getting pictures and that we were taken care of.
Afterwards, they took us to a local restaurant with amazing food before heading back to the Port. Overall, a great experience. Would recommend!

Selena was amazing. One of the best excursions we’ve ever taken. She did everything to make our trip perfect. We had so much fun, laughed and drank throughout the whole trip. Don’t hesitate to book if you’re in Costa Maya. Great cruise excursion.

If your cruise ship is in early and stays late, you can have such an extra special day!! Meeting was easy. You have to get through the mini town and get outside the gate. We found them waiting. There were 2 families and a couple. Ten people. We were blessed to have Selena as our guide. She was so friendly. She insisted on taking pictures which was nice to not have to ask someone. It was about an hour therr. We stopped briefly for the pineapples, lime and it was mango season! You put sunscreen on there in case you did not yet. No sunscreen allowed at Bacalar. Quickly got on our pontoon boat. We had all the drinks we wanted from pick up til drop off. The lagoon is beautiful. Selena said it was the clearest and calmest she had seen in a long time. I think she said that usually means bad weather coming. We stopped twice to swim for about an hour each. She got out and served us the pineapple and mangos. So so good!!! She also walked around the lagoon with my family and told us great info and stories. It is really worth every penny. Selena will ask you what you like to eat and drink. She is taking your order just so you know. The food was very good. We got back around 3:30. Two hours before we had to be. Perfect day!!!

I loved seeing the different colors of water and the cenotes. Our travel guide and driver were both awesome and took getting us back to the ship on time very seriously. They provided yummy drinks and snacks. My fish tacos were very good❣️ I highly recommend this tour❣️❣️❣️

As soon as we got off the ship I got a call from Tony from our excursion letting us know where to meet. We passed the Taxi station and walked away from the busy port. The connection was professional and seamless. Our drive was about an hour however felt shorter as Selina gave us historical information! Selina was our guide and offered snacks and beverages! The tacos were amazing everyone loved it, they had a variety salsas from mild t habanero that was amazingly delicious. It was relaxing and the time was perfect not to short or long.

Bacalar was amazing. Something everyone would enjoy. The water is pristine. The white sandy bottom really brings out the many shades of blue. Never have I seen a more beautiful fresh water lagoon. Fun and safe for all ages.
Our driver Julio was a great driver and attentive to all our needs. Van was comfortable and clean. Lunch was delicious. Our tour guide was needed for another tour, so that was my only negative.
Bacalar Lagoon must be seen to appreciate its true beauty.

This experience was the best of our whole trip. Celina is amazing and was able to teach us the best of Maya culture. We also had the opportunity to try fresh made empanadas, fish tacos and fruits. Everything was amazing and we could see how much love and dedication she puts in her work. The 7 colours lagoon is spectacular and worth the trip. We highly recommend this tour. Great vibe from the beginning until the end!
