Chichen Itza is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. A must when coming to Mexico. We leave early in the morning (around 6:30 am for Playa Del Carmen) to avoid the crowds as much as possible. We take the fastest route, without making any technical stops (souvenir shops, central agency for final payments, etc.) in order to arrive before the hot weather and the crowds. As you leave, you can see all the big groups arriving... After a guided tour (your certified guide will accompany you all day, not only to the ruins), you will have some free time for souvenirs (good place to to buy). Then, we take the road again to visit a Mayan community where you will eat traditional food and learn about the Mayan culture. We will end with a magnificent cenote to refresh you. you will be back at your hotel around 6 p.m. Quality service in small groups without mixing languages and all inclusive.

The website lacks a little clarity on deposits and the different options when booking.
But the excursions are very well explained.

Well organized, well-chosen times and spots to avoid the crowds!
Good choice for lunchtime meals!

It is difficult for us to leave a 100% positive review about our experience with Del Mundo Tours.
The problem lies mainly in the price, which, for us, was clearly excessive compared to the experience: excursion from Playa Del Carmen, for the day, with visit to Chichen Itza, a Mayan community and a Cenote. All for 2,900 Mexican dollars per person, or around 250 Canadian dollars (around 165 euros).
This price raised questions for us from the start because we had found the same shipment three times cheaper, at 1100 Mexican dollars, with another operator. But we preferred to play it safe (the many positive comments enjoyed by Del Mundo Tours had convinced us).
So yes, our guide was simply brilliant! Thanks again to Petrus and his humor, his culture and his passion for passing on a lot of knowledge to us. The success of the expedition is largely down to him.
But :
- Departure scheduled for 6:45 a.m., arrival 30 minutes late “due to traffic”.
- Biscuits and drinks included in the price were in very small quantities and not very nutritious.
- After the visit to Chichen Itza, the visit to the “authentic Mayan community” raised questions for us: the place, set up on the side of the road, seemed built expressly for tourists, with only one family on site. We were given the opportunity to make tortillas with the family and weave a hammock... The relevance of this stopover was supposed to be more interesting than a trip to Valladolid. But we have learned nothing about this “authentic” community. We nevertheless ate well there.
- The promised photo report: our guide only took a few photos with his cell phone in the Mayan “village” and the Cenote. When we display “photo report”, we expect something a little more serious...
- Finally, after visiting the Cenote, which was quite nice, the way back was the occasion of a very unfortunate event. Because you should know that before picking us up at 6:45 a.m. in Playa del Carmen, our driver had picked up people in Cancun even earlier, between 5 and 6 a.m. These people paid a VIP surcharge to be picked up from their hotel (while we benefited from the same service without having paid a VIP surcharge) and the family had a young boy with them. We were 9 passengers, plus the driver and the guide. On the way back, 5 of us got off in Cancun (including ourselves who took the plane the next morning very early), 2 in Puerto Morales and 2 in Playa del Carmen. To our great surprise, on the way back, it was preferred to go through Playa del Carmen before Cancun... On the way down from Playa del Carmen, around 7 p.m., the owner of Del Mundo Tours was there to pick up the two people who got off at this stop as well as… the guide. The owner didn't even greet us and let the guide take care of the goodbyes, visibly embarrassed (the latter had told us on the way back that logically we would stop by Cancun before Playa del Carmen). Everything made us think that the important thing was, in the morning and in the evening, to make the life of the guide easier and undoubtedly that of the owner before that of the clients... We arrived around 8:30 p.m. at the airport and the family with their child had to arrive around 9 p.m. They were the first to get up in the morning and the last to return even though they had paid a VIP rate. They were extremely unhappy...
According to my calculations, counting gas, meals, entrance to the sites, guides, etc., the price per person must be between 1200 and 1500 Mexican pesos maximum. We paid 2900 Mexican pesos, plus the $200 tip (which was highly recommended). We are therefore on +50% margin, which seems exaggerated to us, given the quality of the excursion which is only dependent on that of the guide.
For such a price, we expect something extraordinary... but that's not what we experienced!

Great experience, the excursion is fantastic, varied, Chichen Itzá delightful, a beautiful real immersion in the world of the Mayans and to finish a magical cenote where my 13 year old son had a blast jumping into clear waters. The day is intense and the transfer is a bit long. But it's worth it !! Thanks to Pétrus our guide and thanks to Del Mundo for this beautiful day!!!

We did 4 excursions with del mundo tours, always in a small group.
We arrived at the site with the crowd, which allowed us to make the most of it.
Philippe top guide for the ruins.
Marion, a French woman passionate about her work, made us discover Mexico differently, with small intentions.
Charly, a top driver and extremely kind.
The only negative point was our excursion to Tulum in a mini bus for 14 people, with no space (feeling of confinement)
We recommend this agency which allows you to make beautiful excursions in small groups and in French.

The physics agency is a real plus for discussing different activities. The welcome is friendly, the advice and information when booking was very clear and the responses via WhatsApp very quick.
Marion the very friendly guide and Juan the guide with lots of humor were at the top! Lots of memories and good times thanks to them.
The site is truly magnificent and the visit to an Aldea Maya is a plus and allows you to have another vision of Mexico.
Do not hesitate to go in a private group if there are many of you as this saves time on the round trip (no need to pass through other hotels).
I have no point of comparison with the other agencies on site but I only have positive points with this one, to recommend without hesitation!

Superb excursion with our top-notch guide Felippe 👍. After visiting the Chichen Itza site, we headed to a Mayan family where we tasted a typically local dish. To end the day, a little refreshment in a cenote which had all its charm. The advantage of this agency is that we always arrive very early before the crowds and the photos are splendid. Very good dynamism for most excursions thanks to the guides who know how to set the mood (Felippe, Marion 🥰). Don’t hesitate and go straight there for better organization of your vacation. We highly recommend this totally French agency (and we are Belgian 🙃).

We did 4 tours, diving, cultural, Cenoti in addition to this one.
The 4 were magnificent, we have memories full of memories, in addition to the fantastic human encounters.
