Experience two of the greatest natural attractions in Puerto Rico, all in one day! This full-day package offers the best of the East Coast, eliminating the need for extensive planning. Enjoy round-trip transportation, a fully guided rainforest tour, and the renowned Bio Bay kayak tour.

El Yunque stands as Puerto Rico’s premier natural wonder, recognized as the sole tropical rainforest and the most extensively researched forest within the United States National Forest System. Renowned for its biological diversity, it harbors a multitude of plant and animal species, many exclusive to Puerto Rico.

Bioluminescence remains one of Earth’s most intriguing phenomena. Powered by tiny organisms known as "dinoflagellates," the sparkling waters of Fajardo Bio Bay offer a year-round spectacle, allowing visitors to witness nature's brilliance after dusk.

We did the full-day Rainforest and BioBay tour with our family of four (2 kids aged 13 and 10yrs). We booked the Saturday tour which they caution is more strenuous but none of our group had any trouble.

Overall we had a fantastic time, I'd definitely recommend this tour, but you'll need to dedicate a full day. Transportation pickup was on time from on our hotel, with a short stop at a local fruit stand, then a 30 minute drive into the rainforest. Our guides Bradley and Maurie were very friendly and they took lots of photos with their camera of our entire group at each stop, which was awesome! We have some great photos of us and our kids doing the rock slide, cliff jump, and rope swing into the water.

They say to wear closed toed shoes and I'd definitely agree, we bought some Merrell waterproof hiking shoes with the "vibram" soles and they worked well to grip the slippery and muddy rocks along the trail and when climbing up rocks.

As long as you "embrace the mud" (as Bradley says) you'll have a great time!

After the rainforest portion, we changed into our dry clothes and they took us to a local restaurant in Fajardo area for an early dinner (4pm or so). You order ahead of time so the food came pretty quickly. We had skirt steak, coconut fritters and "mofongo" and enjoyed our meal.

After dinner they dropped us off at the "Kayak Village" in Fajardo for the bio bay kayaking portion, which was operated by a different company (Island Kayaking Adventure for the Saturday tour). It was the 6pm bio bay tour, where you basically form a conga line of kayaks and head down the river single file in 2-person kayaks. It was dusk on the way up the river, so were able to see the mangrove trees, which was nice. Once in the bio bay they lined all the kayaks up side-by-side and you basically just splash your hands and paddles in the water to see the "glow". They also provided some tarps to put over your head to make it darker and easier to see the glowing plankton. It was a cool effect, but we only stayed in the bay maybe 10 minutes before they had us start the trip back down the river. I feel like a little more time in the bay would have been nice. The kayak back is in pure darkness, but they have indicator lights on each kayak so you basically just follow the kayak in front of you. We were back at the start around 7:30pm. The kayak company also runs an 8pm tour, so I'm wondering if the later group gets to stay in the bay longer.

Puerto Rico actually has a few different bio bays, and I heard from a local that the bio bay on Vieques island is actually the best one, but we didn't have time during our trip to try it and compare.

Overall we had a great day with Island Adventures, it was nice to be picked up directly from our hotel in the morning, and not have to think about transportation, and get dropped back off at our hotel in the evening. It was a long day, but our family had a great time, and if you only have 1 day available in your trip for something like this, I think the combo tour is worth it.

A great short hike and climb. Slide, Jumps and Rope Jump are tons of fun. Easy enough for our whole family 25-60 and very rewarding. Our guides Jami, and Amuari were awesome fun and informative.

This was such a fun today for me and my 19 year old son! We met our two guides, Amauri and Rene at the fruit stand and they immediately were so kind and helpful. They guided the group with expertise and humor and always made us feel safe and confident on the trail. They thought of every detail, down to the beautiful cut fruit waiting for us on a rock after our cliff jump and rope swing! Loved the day. Thank you!!!

Amazing!! Amauri and Rene were so welcoming, informative and made a lovely experience for all. This was a moderate activity but our guides made it possible for various skill levels. Come prepared with proper footwear for hiking and swim attire. The activity included hiking, swimming, water slide, cliff jumping and drinks /snacks. Small group made for an excellent experience. Super fun time learning about the rainforest, the river and environment!! Book this now you won’t be disappointed!

Jami and Rene were such great guides. They were knowledgable about El Yunque and personable. This tour was super fun and adventurous. Expect to get wet and muddy but it is more than worth it.

This tour involves two different companies. Kayak Puerto Rico was great!! The trip through the canal surrounded by mangrove trees and the bio bay were both magical. I went on a night where the moon was almost full and pretty bright, but the company provided tarps to make sure we saw the glittery glow. The guides were very helpful and taught everyone about the biology of the bay. This is a memorable experience, and I highly recommend adding this to your PR agenda.

The trip to the rainforest had its pros and cons. The rainforest itself is beautiful and amazing. However, don’t expect to learn much about the environment around you. This trip is really about the activities of the natural slide and rope swing. It was very busy and there are long waits involved. You will get muddy and wet and there is climbing involved. Be prepared by wearing strong shoes that tie on and have a good grip. Also, know that these shoes will never be the same afterwards. I will also say that the snacks and dinner (at a restaurant) were disappointing. Pack your own food. Also, the stop at the fruit stand was off-putting. There was garbage everywhere and it smelled bad, and after watching some of the food prep, I don’t recommend eating anything there. I will say that the guides were safer-minded, and this tour company seems more safety minded than most of the other groups taking folks through the rainforest. If you are looking to appreciate the nature and learn about the rainforest, this is not the tour for you.

It was extremely muddy on the trails, but you can wash off at the end. Paulo and Bradley were great fun and very patient with the group. We had plenty of time to enjoy the entire experience.
The meal after the hike was delicious.
Kayaking in the Bio Bay was a highlight for us. Again, great people and a fantastic end to the day.
