We had the opportunity to make Aswan tour ( the temple of philae - high dam ) with Keroles who was a higly qualified, kind and patient egiptologist. Depite because of a flight delate we were not able to make the dam, we visited the temple of philae. The place is beautiful, the trip in boat was one of the best parts. I was thinking to do it without a guide, however, the experience became much richer having an expert such as Keroles to explain the history of the temple and wonderful details that really enrich the experience of the visit. He was very kind and patient, hopefully he did not mind taking so many pictures of us, I really reacommend this tour, especially with Keroles!

Soga was great, she provided us with so much information about the history of both the temple and the Dam- we really appreciate it.
I didn’t like that we paid around $50 and that didn’t include temple tickets, boat ride, the Dam tickets and we of course had (I say had because we literally were asked to tip, but this seems to be the norm in Luxor) to tip. I don’t think that’s fair. The whole trip was about 4 hours, the price shouldn’t be this much

We got a private two person tour, which was more than what we expected. We were grateful that the owner did not cancel the tour since there were only two of us. The guide Siwa and the driver were polite and helpful and attentive to our needs. We would highly recommend the tour to anyone who wants to have a great visit at Aswan.

Driver and guide never showed up. Got refunded in full but still wasted 1h30 of our time trying to get in touch with the tour operator. Future clients: make sure to reconfirm the details of your booking the day before.

HIGH TAKE
President Gamal Abdel Nasser promoted its construction during the Cold War. The main reason for its construction was to control the high floods of the Nile that often destroyed crops, creating true food emergencies. In addition, it also made it possible to generate almost half of the electrical energy that the country required.
Construction began in 1960 and was completed 10 years later.
As a result of its construction, Lake Nasser was created, with a total area of 6000 km2 and which involved the transfer of several monuments from ancient Egypt, such as the temple of Abu Simble, in addition to forcing the migration of a large number of original settlers. of the area.
