Located about 25 miles (40 km) northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, the Cu Chi tunnels consist of a vast network of 155 miles (250 km) of tunnels connecting underground living and cooking areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command center but also hundreds of trap doors. Initially dug with simple tools and bare hands for the fight against the French in the 1940s, the tunnels were then extended by Vietnamese revolutionary soldiers during the "American War" in the 1960s and 1970s. It became a large, multi-story, deep underground city providing hiding spots, as well as communication and supply routes, helping the Vietnamese revolutionaries. On this tour, you'll get to experience what it was like for those who called these tunnels home and how they endured.

We booked this tour short notice (about 5 hours prior) and the team was very responsive and accommodating. The tour guide was a fountain of knowledge and sharing, with really interesting stories to share. Make sure you climb through the tunnels for a bit of a confronting experience.

And ask for Roy as a guide - he was great.

We had a very good experience with Jason as our tour guide of the Cu Chi Tunnels. Jason was quite knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the cultures of the peoples of Vietnam. My husband and I came away from the tour both entertained and enlightened. It was an overall very good trip, including the ride through the rural areas separating Saigon and the Cu Chi tunnels. We highly recommend Jason's at Ginkgo Voyage services.

Visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels is another fantastic way to understand the travesities of war and the ability for people to overcome aggressors.

Our guide, Lin, was exceptional on not only giving us the historical perspective but also explaining what the Vietnamese contended with on a daily basis during the Vietnam war. The tunnels were not that busy and weather not too bad so we were able easily able to do all the activities

The tour company was great in terms of timing and vehicle. Five stars for Lin and the company she works with in making this a memorable experience for us
