The tour was good if you are looking for a quiet way to spend the afternoon. The guides were friendly and shared information about the different landmarks and places along the Nile. Slower paced activity but gives a different viewpoint of Aswan, Elephantine island and Kitchener Island.

Aswan is a beautiful town and being in a felucca on the Nile sounds incredible but for us it was very boring. We were the only tourists on the boat accompanied by three other man, two sailing and another just there on his phone. After an hour of going around what looked like the same place we were then taken to an awful restaurant for the inclusive lunch which we expected to be on board. Our guide and the sailors were wonderful though and tried their hardest to give us a good time.

Its all about the taste. Definitely not for me. Incredibly slow and sometimes felt like its not moving. In Aswan, they take you around the Elephantine Island with short drop offs possible at the Botanical Garden, Nubian village and an Old monastery site. The boat captains are locals and can converse in english. Some of them even speak other languages. This is for those, who like to be on the river and have all the time in the world and enjoys nice sun.

To be on the Nile River in a felucca was a great way to see the colorful sights and sounds of Aswan. This traditional wooden Egyptian sailing boat is propelled by oars and is only made to seat a handful of people. A ride on a felucca offers a calmer, slower ride than a noisy motorboat.
