Explore Montserrat mountain on this private tour. Head to Montserrat mountain in private transport to visit the virgin of Montserrat, which is about 50km/30mi from Barcelona, walk amongst the stunning and unique peaks, enjoy magnificent views, and visit the museum which boasts a huge collection of artistic masterpieces spanning from the 13th to 20th centuries.
After your cultural visit head to a local restaurant to have a delicious three course meal comprised of regional products. Then round out your day with a visit to a neighboring biodynamic winery. On your private winery tour you'll learn the tradition of making wine and cava and get to taste some most emblematic varietals. Celebrated our 40th anniversary!
I scheduled this tour through VIATOR, as I do not have any idea of tours in Barcelona. WE ARE GUIDES BARCELONA was the subcontractor for the excursion, with a timely hotel pickup by our Guide Feliciano.
The tour was terrific; our guide was knowledgeable with an early (0830AM) pickup. We were able to skip most of the lines at Montserrat. His knowledge of the museum was helpful, as most would have skipped that portion on a selftour.
Lunch was amazing, excellent food with a view.
The private wine tasting, we met the owner... shipped a case of wine home! It was that good! You'll have to book to find both the amazing restaurant and winery.
Back to our hotel, safe and sound!

Feliciano was a wonderful guide. I apologize if I miss spelled his name. He took us to Monserrat in the morning. Great recommendation to beat the crowd on a Sunday morning. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area which was wonderful. After taking many beautiful pictures we heading to a restaurant in the Penedès area for lunch. After a delicious meal we headed to winery in the region to finish the afternoon. After the tasting and purchasing wine to be sent home to South Carolina we headed back to the hotel.
I would recommend this tour long as you have Feliciano as a guide.

Our tour guide, Xavier (Chavi), was absolutely fantastic. We booked for 9:00 a.m. (with a 7:45 pick-up) and got to Montserrat before the crowds—it was almost empty, and what a joy to have the run of the place. We had all the time in the world with Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey and La Moreneta. We opted to take the funicular to the top and hike a bit rather than visit the museum, and then we came back down to enjoy a break for coffee and water. We then headed to a beautiful lunch at a winery with a fabulous view and on to a delightful wine tasting at another winery. The entire day was perfect, and Chavi was a delight.

What an amazing day! Miguel is a great guide! Extremely knowledgeable about Montserrat and its interesting history. He timed the tour perfectly, so we were able to see the Madonna before the line formed. Had an amazing lunch with beautiful views. We learned so much about Cava and had a wonderful time at the winery! Thank you Miguel!!

Miguel Suarez Perez was an amazing tour guide! We honestly felt like we were hanging out with our very knowledgeable good friend all day! Montserrat was gorgeous! Magical experience. Miguel took us to a gorgeous scenic restaurant. Absolutely delicious! The last stop was to the Pares Balta organic winery where David taught us so much about wine making and fermentation! He was lovely and the eine tasting was great! The Cosmic and Blanca wines blew my mind!! This was such a great experience! If you’re coming to Barcelona, I couldn’t recommend this tour enough!!

Miguel was amazing! On the way we learned so much about Catalan history. Our Monserrat tour was fantastic! We arrived early and were able to see the Madonna before the line built up. Miguel was engaging and fun. He timed the whole tour perfectly. Our lunch was amazing with beautiful views. The wine tasting was incredible! We learned so much and enjoyed the wine and food! I highly recommend!!

Feliciano was a delightful guide! His obvious love for the region, entertaining stories, and diverse knowledge of the regions we visited made our time fly by! He was punctual picking us up, made certain we timed our visit to the Madonna perfectly, and treated us like friends throughout the entire day! It is obvious he is well regarded at the restaurant and vineyards we visited. Highly recommend this tour and Feliciano - he made a nice visit amazing!
