This tour will take visitors through a path on the edge of memory, along the front of one of the battles that decided the fate of the Second World War, the one fought between Syracuse and Catania, along the Simeto river line.
A particularly suggestive moment of reflection will take place at the English and German war cemeteries, the burial place of many soldiers who lost their lives here.
The day will end with a visit to the interesting museum dedicated to the Allied Landing in Sicily, where accurate reconstructions and a rich historical documentation, films and videos of the time tells the story of Operation Husky.
The memory of the past becomes a moment of knowledge and education, to build a peaceful future.

For me, this was a fascinating day. I have studied operation husky, the 1943 invasion, so it was really interesting. I was very lucky to have Marco, my guide, on a 1 to 1, and he was excellent, punctual and good company.
However, I feel that the title of the tour could be misleading. There is very little to see at the sight of the original bridge, so imagination is important. This tour is all about the invasion and battles in this
area, finishing at the very understated but excellent museum.
So I have only given a 3 star. Just so people know what to expect.

Alberto D’Algata was a superb tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the events leading up to, during and after the battle of primosole bridge. He took us to the exact location that fighting occurred and pointed out in great detail how the campaign was won and then lost. He is possibly the most knowledgeable and comprehensive tour guide I have worked with. Great, great day with Alberto.
