The rehearsals of the carnival samba schools are a typical experience in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The Escola de Samba Acadêmicos do Salgueiro is one of the most popular in the city. His rehearsal is a real show, with a lot of samba, dancers, flag bearers and the school's furious battery.

Loved it!!! Come prepared to be entertained! Most tourists never experience this scene and it’s worth it.

We arrived and were immediately seated at a table that we had to clean on the fly. Apart from this detail, the experience was very good. The dancers and drums put on a show. The experience was really worth it. I recommend.

Contagious, very emerging, I highly recommend it, family-friendly place with good infrastructure, bars with food and drinks

The event, once we were dropped off was simply AMAZING!! Like, everybody should experience that in Rio - very nice and SAFE location. Incredible energy, beautiful people! Next time we will be looking into getting to Salgueiro in a bag or Uber.
Cons:
We were 2 hrs in the tourist agency bus waiting for everybody else to be picked up… we were the first.
I wished I knew it so we could’ve meet the bus at the last pick up location, 2 hrs later. The agency used here (or the guide) seemed disorganized, the bus smelled like a public bathroom, like pretty bad. Outdated bus, no music nothing fun for 2 hrs before dropped off at the event, which was a shame. With little adjustments this could’ve been a better experience in general.
