The Aeolian sea offers enchanting scenery, often accessible only by boat, among cliffs, reefs and seabeds rich in biodiversity.

Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for their beauty and the volcanic phenomena that take place there, the Aeolian Islands are a magical place where history and myth merge. Every day a different corner to see, enchanting bays reachable only by sea, beaches, craters, fishing villages and clubs for romantic evenings.

Far from the crowding of numerous tourists, you can enjoy the sun, uncontaminated nature, diving, visits and trekking on land, as well as learning the seafaring art.

Check-in: every Saturday at 5pm Marina di Porto Pignataro di Lipari.

Check-out: the cruise ends the following Friday around 4pm. Disembarkation can be done the same evening, or on Saturday morning by 8am.

When you try to inform yourself, how to get to the Markeysas Islands, the answer is always: with the Aranui 5.
And really, that is the best solution. Because, during all the trip, the cargo/cruise-ship is your safe harbour, your hotel, your restaurant, and your bedroom.
The core business for the Aranui 5 is to supply the islands with all kind of non-natural stuff. The additional business is to take passengers along, and to entertain them aboard during sailing, or on shore as long as the cargo-handling takes.
The Marquesas Islands are somewhere in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the South Pacific ocean, 1500 km away from Tahiti.
They are dead volcanos, covered with 50 shades of green, tropic flowers, and 'unknown' fruit, and a little habitation.
Hiva Oa is the biggest of those 14 islands, known because Paul Gauguin and Jacques Brel have been living here.
Ik can be sunny, or rainy, but it is always damp.
All the time, you can wonder, how the first inhabitants got there, or how the French colonisation got there, or how and why todays people live there.
