I am a professional photographer. My wife and I spent three nights and 4 days entranced by the overwhelming beauty of the architecture of Mexico City - particularly the modern architecture on Paseo de la Reforma. While we reside in colonial Queretaro, Mexico, and treasure all types of art displayed in different regions of this vast and diverse country. The opportunity to capture images in CDMX of their modern architectural structures is a very real treat. See a few of my photos below. It was truly a treat to have the privilege of photographing these magnificent architectural designs and creations. Do it!

An absolute horror of a museum! The collection (rather odd in itself) is displayed in six floors that are both poorly lit and extremely cluttered. The architects of what is otherwise an interesting building clearly either knew little about displaying artwork or didn't incorporate their little knowledge into the design of the spaces.
In some areas of the museum the paintings are crowded together on the walls to the point where some are hung at kneecap level!
The large collection (a bit of a mishmash, actually) is crammed into a space wholly inadequate to house it, which ends up diminishing the quality of the better works which are displayed cheek by jowl with others.
The final floor houses a large collection of works by Rodin along with Degas maquettes, Daumier and others but it is such a jumble that it ends up feeling like a warehouse more than a proper museum.

Wow! The architecture of this building is fantastic and the exhibits are well-organized. The artists are too numerous to mention.
The Jumex (next door) is also free and provides modern artwork and a great view of this museum as well.

Food court in shopping mall close by.

I like the museum, the building itself is an interesting modern structure, it has a good number of valuable collections. The best part is that the admission is free.
