Kotor is lovely and our tour guide was an ace! He made the tour. I give him a 4 or 5 out of 5. He was in his early 20s but is so passionate about his country and well educated about its history that it made a great experience overall. The only thing is that KOTOR is very small and the traffic is really bad. Our driver ended up being late but 40 minutes which he profusely apologized for as there was a accident on the 1 road in. We were caught in traffic on our way back from Our Lady of Rock so there was no time to see Perast and our time in the medieval village of Kotor was very rushed. The private tour for us group of 4 adults with 2-12 yr olds was great and the guarantee that Viator offers that you will make it back to your ship on time or they will get you to the next port made us feel comfortable. However, I wonder if a boat ride to Our Lady of the Rock is the way to go to bypass traffic issues. And then when you are back you can very easily walk into the sweet little town of Kotor and have a bite to eat as the food looked amazing with time to take in it's history and beauty.
