An excellent tour in fascinating surroundings. Mama Etna made thunder like sounds and we could se it blowing steam out. The visit to Gambino wineyards was a perfect way to end the tour. Plenty of Sicilian lunch and very tasty Etna wine. A somellier guided os through the whole stay. Everybody was so friendly and welcoming. But what made the tour even more special was our fantastic tour guide Andreos. So helpful and genuinly just a really nice guy with a lot of knowledge of the area.

The most incredible day! This tour is a must. I thought about visiting Momma Etna and I wasn't going to but last minute I decided to do it and I'm delighted I did. It's such an impressive trip and after leaving Taormina and entering the national park you feel like you are in a different country. Alex the guide was amazing, he has such a passion for his job and the opportunity to not only see Etna but to learn so much about Etna and volcanos all over the world from Alex was priceless. The vineyard was the the perfect end to the day, the wine was amazing (we must have had 7-8 wines!), definitely a little tipsy leaving and I'm a 35 year old Irish man so not easily influenced! The service incredible. A day not to forget with great people and phenomenal natural experience. Thank you!

This was a wonderful tour that included a visit to a lava tunnel. Mt. Etna and finally an enjoyable tasting of the local “flavors” (2 wines, 4 olive oils on toast and at least 6 liqueurs all made at the winery with local ingredients from Mt. Etna farms). Our small group of 8 was a perfect size. Claudio, our guide, was friendly, knowledgeable, a great story teller and an excellent driver. He answered all of our questions and explained our options at the Mt. Etna base area. We all chose to take the cable car up to two craters that were formed in the 2002 - 2003 eruptions. Once off the cable car we were shepherded into a 4 wheel drive bus that took us up further to where a volcanist guide took us by foot to the craters themselves and provided an interesting overview. If doing this dress warmly and take a wind breaker - very windy at 3,000 meter/ 10,000 ft elevation! Very majestic and well worth the additional 78 euro price pp for the cable car, bus & guide. Other options included driving a ATV (extra cost) or a short walk to a lower crater (no additional cost). Highly recommend doing this tour with Viator / Etna Tribe.

My family of seven from the United States thought this was one of the highlights of our trip to Sicily. Andreas and his team were wonderful and giving us a true authentic experience, we explored, we hiked and we learned so much. The Gambino winery was absolutely magnificent the food, the people, the atmosphere and of course the wine! Fabulous day for our family ! This is a must do!!

this tour was amazing! i couldn’t recommend it more. our tour guide was Alex, and he was truly awesome, very friendly and knowledgeable with a true passion for Mother Etna and all volcanos in general. He even went further to provide us with some restaurant recommendations for dinner in Taormina afterwards!

on this tour they give you hiking shoes to change into so make sure you bring socks with you! (which was great that we didn’t have to pack these or ruin our own runners) and walking sticks to assist you up the craters. they also provide you helmets and lights for entering the cave!

the tour also allows for a bathroom break and a quick coffee at a little chalet before getting to the cave which was a nice bonus.

the Gambino winery is where we were taken for lunch and the wine was amazing (i bought three bottles to take with me) and the food was even better (try to snag a second eggplant if you can). beautiful vineyards and views from the winery. winery staff were all excellent as well and very friendly!!

overall very much enjoyed this tour!! make sure you bring water with you and take some small volanic rocks home with you as souvenirs!

First off, Andrea and Alex--THE BEST GUIDES!!! Funny, safety conscious, informative and friendly. These guys were awesome! Second, be aware that you are hiking. It's not for those unable to handle a mid-level, somewhat rough hike. There were many (me among them) who were considered "elderly" who were able to make the hike (thankful for those breaks!). There were also a few who dropped out once they realized what exactly the excursion physically required of them. Last, if you're up to it and you're fortunate enough to have Andrea & Alex assigned to your group, you'll have a blast!

This was an amazing small group experience with a fantastic driver/guide who was fun and knowledgeable and made it such a special experience- the wine tasting just added to a fab trip. Thankyou, highly recommend to anyone.

Everything about this trip was fantastic! Our guide Alex was so knowledgeable and helpful and did everything he could to make our trip as enjoyable as possible. The Gambino winery was also fabulous, generous wine tastings, great lunch and lovely staff.

The tour at the Etna was very nice. Andrea, the guide, was very kind and full of interesting facts and stories about the volcano. Without traveling too much, or walking a lot, we saw wonderful sights. Strong contrasts, and many colors. The areas of more recent volcano eruptions are black, red, and brown. In another direction, the lava left some solidified traces in the form of colorful stones. A few steps ahead, we even see a wide variety of flowers, green fields, and trees. Wonderful experience.
The wine-tasting was a bit disappointing for us. Gambino Winery sits in a beautiful venue, and the wine is good, but most of the time we were just waiting, for the guidance, for the food, and then to go home... All the visit should have been a maximum of 1 hour and not 2 and a half. It was too long, and when the food finally arrived, it wasn't very good.

Absolutely superb tour. Our passionate and knowledgeable guide Alex, told us so much about Volcanos and the trip up to Etna was very pretty. Then the winery lunch and tasting was excellent- very generous and lots of fun. A great day out- totally worth every cent! 🌅
